Okay guys ive been out of the minecraft loop for a while and have *Just* downloaded 1.8 (dont judge me) and now when i put in the dakka server name (web2.dakkadakka.com) it states that it cant resolve hostname, and when i chose direct connect it says failed to connect to server, unknown host.
Help?

Make sure it's spelled right, no commas instead of dots etc.
It's working fine here. Or you could try typing in 178.63.68.200 (in case your ISP is having DNS problems)

Got that the first time around...
On a similar note, if anyone has any ideas on how to make the fingers seem more pronounced and less like it's being held by a mitten, then i'm open to ideas; multi-coloured fingers are out, though.

Might just remove the iron bars tbh, it doesn't look very hammer-y with them. Maybe if spikes are introduced, i'll stick a few on.
Until then, it's been a very rushed creation, trying not to make it seem flat and boring, but also not too extravagent and detatched from what it's meant to be, but I seem to only be able to hit the ends of the extremes.

I thought they were glass, actually. Don't think it's terrible with them, though.
Maybe try smoothestone half-slabs? Then you'd have the darker bits between blocks, and ribbing that might make it look more armoured.

Someone has been stealing all my stacks of wood, and I've noticed that all the boats in the harbour have increased in size. So could whoever that was, please return the stacks. Its kind of very annoying.
Edit: someone also griefed the glass roofed room on the bottom of the harbour. wtf, not cool.
