Subject: Wave Serpent Shield question

Sorry I don't play Space Elves here's a silly question.
Two Scenerios, three questions
#1
-Spacemarines go first and get a penetrating hit on an eldar wave serpent.
-Serpent fails jink
-Eldar player elects to use shield to ignore
-On subsequent Eldar turn (same GAME TURN) the shield can't shoot? Correct?
#2
-Eldar goes first
-Shoots the shield at spacemarines
-Spacemarines go second (same GAME TURN) and get a penetrating hit on the same eldar wave serpent
-Serpent fails jink
-The penetrating hit goes through? Correct?
-Next GAME turn if the Eldar player elects to shoot the shield (or not), he's snapshooting? Correct?
Thanks....
My buddy seems to be insisting that in scenerio #1 he could still shoot with the shield. I cried fowl. foul? yes foul. not quack quack.

1) Yes he can shoot still. There is nothing the rule preventing you from shooting your shield after using it in a previous turn
2) Yes that is correct

WTF? Really. He can shoot it in the same game turn he used it to defend himself?

Yeah. The only restrict is if you have previously fired it. Nothing on if you used its defensive effect.

I think when facing Eldar with wave serpents you should forget trying to pen the vehicle, at best you need a 5+ to explode it anyways, I would always attempt to glance it, prepare for it that way and you likely won't have to worry so much.

The sheild works because you went first. On the last go he won't be able to do it (assuming he fires it every go, which he will). It's not especially unusual in this regard

Yeah, this is how it would go.
Your T1 - you fire and pen. He uses his shield to downgrade shots to glance.
His T1 - he can fire his shield normally.
Your T2 - you fire and pen. Now, he cannot use his shield to downgrade the shot because he just used it on his turn for offense.

What i like the most about this is the ridiculous range the Shield have when shooting...
I mean come on, its a energy shield burst, i'd expect it to go like a 360* 12" radius, that would be nice to fend off ennemy models who are too close.
But a 36" S7 D6 ignore cover shot that can be rerolled to hit, if you used the other thingy before, its just plain stupid...

60", with d6+1 shots, with ignores cover, and pinning. Everyone forgets the pinning.
Not that it matters, but just for clarification.
