Here is my Looted Leman Russ . I still have to finish some things on it . I am also going to add an angle plow . Once I purchase an airbrush I will paint it up . What do you think ?

Very cool but needs more dakka.

The exhaust is neat.

Gona make it bristling with grots, ammo and dakka?

I agree with the comment above! More guns and grots....

but as a basis for a tan I think its pretty sweet looking! IMHO I would make the exhausts different on each side.... change the angle or shorten one... just to give it a real "put together by a grot" kind of look..... got to admit though I like the tracks! add a bit of damage or a bit of variety to the treads and I think your really onto something cool!

Good skills though!

Look forward to seeing where it goes from here!

Oh and one piece of advice.... when in doubt.... ADD MOAR RIVETS!!

I think it looks fantastic!

I'm of the school of thought that orky stuff doesn't need to look so haphazard when it comes to looted vehicles. I think they're smart enough to realize more Imperial tech is better than their own so they'd try to leave as much intact as possible.

If the Leman Russ they captured had two working exhausts they'd leave 'em, no sense in adding one of their own unless they had to. Scrap metal is just for repairing holes or reinforcing cockpits imo.

I would say a few more boys and grots on it, but I'm sure that's in the works.

When I first made this tank I spent about a day making tracks from bits and tubes , but it was just too brittle . Then I came up with the idea of using the sides of the leman as a template . Thus making the tracks a bit easier to make and also stronger for game play . The back was an area I intend to put some Grots and also I am thinking of making a front platform for more . I have added a fixed AT gun on the front with spare barrels from the Leman kit . I may replace the top commander hatch or just rework it . I found an old 50's Henkel kit with bombs which I intend to cut in half and make shells out of . I will add them to the back as storage . One hit and BOOM .... Off to work now :(

Anyway I will post more pics once I complete more of it .....

And thanks for the ideas on extra guns and other ones .. it changed it and looks a lot better now ...

I like it a lot, but the glyphs and plates that adorn the turret and cannon barrel are absent on the big flat sides of the tank and the 'sponson balconies'. I think some more orky plates scattered over those areas would really make it look cool.

I like it. Don't over orkify it. That's just unnecessary I feel. It didn't used to be that orks just threw crap together. My only concern is the sponson gunners need hatches to get into the tank because otherwise if they get killed no one can replace them on the go & they can't get more ammo. I don't think orks have to be stupid or competely careless. In fact when it comes to ammo for guns they'd be anything but.

In the pictures above you can see I added doors on each side . I did not complete them with handles yet . The rear platform has none . Updated Work : I added the second gun to the front of the tank . I added an Ork skull which I found online from some Ork kit . Traced it on my phone and then taped it to some plasticard . Cut a hole and the lower gun peeks through it . It is low to the ground , so not sure if that effects game play , but looks cool . My original idea was to add to small plows on each track in the front then a smaller one in the middle . With the big skull now it seems to be too much .

Just have to finish the track details and try to find the evergreen strips I used or cut ones . I ran out and my hobby stores have poor stock of evergreen plastic . After this I will work on my 2 Trukks which were put to the side to make this . They are almost done too .

Then
