Hey all,

I've been trying out a Citadel Crusade Figure Case, and I'm pretty impressed! Wasn't sold on the new foam design from the photos I had seen, but in trying it out in person, it is actually pretty useful for packing and unpacking minis quickly. I've taken a load of photos and written a reasonably thorough review here:

Most people I've spoken to have been pretty positive, but one or to still have their concerns - how have you lot found these cases?

great for packing loads of minis into them but when it comes to vehicles and other biggies like defilers and such, I think its best to stick to customizable pluck foam from other companies.

GW is scared of girls. Why do you think they have so much trouble sculpting attractive female models? Because girls have cooties and the staff at GW don't like looking at them for too long because it makes them feel funny in their naughty place.

I use it for my skaven. It works well, but it takes a while to pack. You can't just drop your models in there, you need to push a bit to make room, and if you have anything that isn't standard sized (like my giant custom army battle standard) it takes some wiggling to get it in there, and pulling it out without care will result in something snapping.

It's a good cheap solution if you're confident a little scraping against eachother won't ruin your model's painting, but it is far removed from the best solution there is.

Bad design - who makes a case engineered specifically so that your fragile minis are scraping against each other?

Wouldn't be surprised if this was simply the cheapest way to make the foam.

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.

If you can't look at that pattern and see a way of packing minis so they don't scrap together, then you're better off buying something else.

As an aside, a bespoke design is never the cheapest way to make anything.

If anyone in the UK is thinking of buying one get it from Wayland Games - they're considerably cheaper; http://www.waylandgames.co.uk/games-workshop-bags/22890-citadel-crusade-figure-case?search_query=crusade+case&results=2

For 56 quid its an absolute bargain.

And you'll probably have it some time before christmas too.

Seriously, anything you use Wayland for, go Element Games instead. I've bought things for maybe a thousand pounds from each, and Wayland's "couple of months before shipping" got really old in the end. Element actually keeps things on stock.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I fit in my crusade case. More suited to small plastic minus than larger ones or metal.
