Victory
Spoiler:
1000pts of Blood Angels (me) vs Necrons
Blood Angels: Linebreaker (+1), First Blood (+1), Unit Kills (+5), Slay The Warlord (+1), Objectives (+4)= 12 Victory Points
Necrons: 0 Victory Points

12-0 to Blood Angels

Opponent was a new player (at least to Necrons)

Defeat
Spoiler:
750pts Blood Angels vs Ultramarines
Blood Angels: Linebreaker (+1)= 1 Victory Point
Ultramarines: First Blood (+1), Unit Kills (+4), Slay The Warlord (+1), Objectives (+4)= 10 Victory Points

10-1 to Ultramarines

Drop Pod spamming gone wrong, my first 2 went of the table and were destroyed. My third got a direct hit, but was busted open by a librarian, only managing to cause a squad of Sternguard to take a morale check (which they passed). Finally, my Chaplain and Death company failed their charge against the Sternguard and got shot to death.

VICTORY: I wont go into specifics except that in a 3k pt game my Orks tabled my two opponents by turn 3.

DEFEAT: I haven't had a crushing defeat yet, Ive lost 1 game and it was because my opponent misunderstood our game and brought 2,500pts to a 2,000pt game :-P

I come in peace. I didn't bring artillery. But I'm pleading with you, with tears in my eyes: If you mess with me, I'll kill you all

Crushing in the sense of overwhelming victory:

1250pts my Tyranids vs Ultramarines. Killed enough of his army to make it inoperable while taking a total of four wounds across my entire army. It was a Turn 4 forfeit.

Crushing in the sense of crushing a soul:

1500pts My Tyranids vs Chaos. I was losing 7-1 at the end of the first turn, opponent scored EVERY Objective in that '6 Objectives on Turn 1' mission and had total early board control with Cypher and Infiltrating Chosen. Ignored the mission, even stopped drawing cards because I stopped caring about that. Tabled him on Turn 5 but the score was 9-3 and the game ticked over to Turn 6. He had no models left and lost. Devastated my opponent.

Crushing loss: 1250pts My Eldar vs Ultramarines. Lost the one Wave Serpent, Falcon and squad of Vypers on Turn 1 from lucky shots by Dreadnaughts and a Stormraven. Lost by turn 3 with zero mobility and units dying by handfuls... Completely lost board control and couldn't get anywhere near Objectives.

In 6th edition, I played a fluffy Blood Angels list with Tacticals, Death Company etc. against a Eldar Saim-Hann tournament list.

I'll let you guys guess which one this was.

Crushing Victory:
Spoiler:
Played 1250 Nids vs Raptors against the supposed best player in the local club. I survived until five turns (which not many people do apparently) and won the game 7-2. The highlights was when a Dakkafex shot down a Stormtalon and to win my game, my opponent had to kill a unit of Rippers with S8 Ap3 Ignore Cover blast barrage and gravturions. He did not. I single handledly brought hope back to my friend who had been consistently losing and probably made the Raptors player change his army.

Crushing Defeat
Spoiler:
Played 1250 vs Tau w/ Knight and Firebase Support Cadre (was unbound). Set up for Alpha strike, only to seize. Flyrant is brought down to two wounds, Warlord killed. Next turn I perils and fail my grounding check. The rest of the army couldn't function at all without the fast Synapse and I was tabled turn 4.

Victory:

Space Marines (1750): Minotaurs (me) versus Blood Angels.

See, I normally roll so horrifically poorly that even with the best of armies I usually die to the most basic of armies.

Not this time.

I had single lascannons blowing up Dreadnoughts, Rhinos, Razorbacks and even a Landraider, boltguns downing Sanguinary guard as if they were paper. Tabled him by 3rd turn once my Honour guard and Terminators slaughtered his remaining troops in close combat.

Defeat:

2k Death Korps of Krieg Assault Brigade versus 2k Eldar.

I only have the only list with my Korps, and the Eldar player was hardcore tourney-type.

The game started well on my part - one shot his Wraithknight with my Instant-Death shells from a Vanquisher, but Jetbikes proved the day - 17vp to 3 in a Maelstrom game. I got first blood, slay the warlord and a single objective, and killed lots of Eldar, but even with horrific losses, Eldar still dominate on objectives.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

Victory: I used Buffmander and plasma cannon devs together. (6th) My opponent had a bike army. Game was over on turn 2.

Defeat: More than once, before I learned how to do it right, my DE deep strike lists had their initial-deployment units killed off, forcing the game to end on turn 1.

A Protoss colony world

I am a pretty new player (fewer than 20 total games played) and I play Dark Angels, so I've hardly ever won a game and certainly never crushed anybody.

My worst defeat was probably game 2 of a tournament I was in this past February. My opponent was running a Blood Angels Drop Pod list. Probably better than half my army was dead on turn 1. I conceded on turn 3 when I only had an attack bike left alive. I only managed to bag a handful of marines and one of the drop pods. I would have conceded much earlier, but I didn't want to be Mr. TFG Quitter-Pants.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

I've won games without losing anything. (Decurion and imperial knights). But these show codex imbalance more than anything.

Worst defeat? Probably the time I tried to play DW at 1000 points with a spartan assault tank.
Belial, 2x DW squad, and the Spartan. Belial and 1 unit in the tank, 1 unit deepstriking on turn 2.

My opponent went first and blew the spartan up first turn with a lucky bright lance shot, and then Belial and the squad inside were wiped by the explosion and following serpent shield spam.

No units on the table at the end of my turn, opponent wins.

Tabled turn one without even moving a single piece.

I've had a few defeats in my time, none of them utterly crushing.

My most crushing victory? 5th edition I think, CSM vs Orks. I'm up against a huge Nob Biker squad with all the trimmings, turn one he speeds across the board.

My turn, Slaanesh Prince lashes the squad into a nice little pie shaped bunch, then my defiler launches it's battle cannon. This is the old bike rules where the extra toughness didn't count for instant death.

All Nobz hit, all nobz wounded, Nobz fail their cover save, every Nob died. Warboss took a wound and I finished him off next turn.

Cleaned up in the next two turns, victory for the spikey marines!

Defeat: 2nd ed, CSM killed my entire list with sonic blasters and reaper autocannons before I got a turn. It quite literally can't get any worse than that.

Victory: Probably some 3rd ed game I have forgotten about. I didn't get any "crushing" wins the Ward-dex in 5th despite the hoopla. People knew what they were looking at where I played.

Victory: My DKOK tank army slaughtered a Necron army in 3 turns, all my shots hit even if they scattered, the highlight being me one shotting a Monolith with a Vanquisher and that I lost a total of 10-15 guardsmen.

Defeat: Tabled in a tournament turn 1 by a Drop Pod army with Grab Cents on the table, didn't even get to fire a shot.

40K 4th edition! I still remember this one. After the 2nd turn we did a do over becuase of the most ridiculous dice rolls on behalf of my opponent (a good friend). I had first turn and shot at almost half of his units, and in all cases made the 25% minimum requires for a fall back test. he failed 9 out of 11 and all 9 units fled off the table! Its a rare circumstance where that will only happen once in a lifetime.

On the reverse:

Defeat: Eldar

Victory: Nids

last year 3 flyrants couldn't apply enough wounds to do squat. Oh, I hit them just couldn't roll a 4+ to wound them. Damn those fickle dice gods! I scored zero victory points.

I know this is 40K thread but I felt compelled to share this.

Vistory: Vampire Counts

Defeat: Glotkin

This last tournament at adepticon on turn 2 my opponent rolls snake eyes for wind of magic, basically double instability damage. So I declare a full charge on all his units and cherry pick the best pair ups. My opponent who was a great guy chuckled while saying 'thats alot of long distance charges theres no way you'll make all thoses' and I replied 'gotta do it while the double instability is there'. To his dismay I only failed one charge and it was a unit that wasn't really important. Turn 3 half of his army was gone, we drank a beer laughed it off and then finished the game.

Crushing Victory: Firebase Support Cadre vs. Iron Hands all mech army: maelstrom of war, escalation, I rolled the tactical warlord trait that gave me an additional tactical objective a turn. By the end of the game I had scored 11 tactical objectives to his 5. Plus I had first blood and had scored 3 victory points off of one of my cards. Turn 6 I drew 7 cards game ended after that: Tau: 14, Iron Hands 5.

Crushing Defeat: Tau vs. Green Tide orks: relic, you can guess the rest I quit turn 3 due to hopelessly too many orks and no way to score other than first blood. Tau: 1, Greed Tide: 3.

Crushing Victory: There's been many, but my most memorable is against IG in 5th edition. Lost 2 assault marines and 3 wounds off of mephiston, and pretty much gutted his army.

Crushing defeat: Tournament game, 5th edition. MSU mech Blood Angels (me) vs top player in my area playing a Draigo-star......kill points. Before a model hit the table it was a forgone conclusion who was going to win, and we both knew it. It went way worse than either of us imagined. Psyfle-dreads walked on the board turn 2 and each killed a razorback, lost mephiston to a solo-hammer paladin 1 v 1 after an awful string of dice rolls. Threw dozens upon dozens of plasma, melta and lascannon rounds into the draigo star, and chipped 2 wounds off of Driago and killed 1-2 paladins. I think the final tally was something like 14-3 kill point wise.

In 3rd edition, I took a 2000 point force of eldar against an imperial guard army and a dark angels force. I tabled both of them (each with 2k points, this was a 3-way game) only losing about 500 points from various squads.

For crushing defeat, the first time we used flyers. I wasn't using any, and my opponent didn't understand how the facing worked. He blew up my vindicators on turn one by getting back strikes. I couldn't blame him, the rules were very confusing.

Victory:

Necrons 1850 vs Daemons 1850
(ME) (HIM)

At the end i had still rougly 1500 points on the table ......

Defeat

Orks 1850 vsTau 1850
(ME) (HIM)

I was tabled in turn 3..... 5/6 trukks got popped on turn one. Squad of lootas got shot bad, and ran of the table.. In the end of his second turn i had about 400 points left. At this point i had lost the will to live....
I did manage to get 5 boyz in CC and managed to kill 1 Kroot.... That was my only kill... So he lost about 10 points? while i lost em all..

I personally HATE and despise these kind of wins/losses.. Takes all the fun out of the game.. but they do happen sometimes..

My best Win, not my most glorious.... was with 2k Crons vs 2K DE (6th ED,previous edition codexes)

in turn 4 i had lost ALL my units while he still had 4 Venoms with warriors and 1 Ravager.. All i had was my Overlord... I had First blood and Slay the warlord, but since my Overlord got back up all the time and didnt die i won the game All he managed to get was Linebreaker 2Vp vs 1 VP

Crushing Defeat:

Can't think of too many, except one. I was playing a friendly game against a buddy, 2000 points, my Necrons (old codex) vs. Eldar/Tau (7th edition, so no battle brothers). My friend used A Falcon, a Riptide, kroot, Rangers, crisis suits, some fire dragons, stealth suits, and some jetbikes and fire warriors. Very, very un-optimized list. I used my traditional AV13 wall with an overlord on a command barge. He had first turn, chipped a wound off my overlord with a melta gun. Then I changed in with my chariot on my first turn, took 3 wounds from stealth suits, failed 2 2+ saves and died, failing to reanimate. I gave him first blood and Warlord. Then I preceeded to not manage a glance on his vehicle with rapid-fire gauss (Not even rolling a 6), failed to kill all of his rangers with a ton of shooting, Triarch stalker actually missed every shot (TL HGC), and I didn't really kill much else. The next turn he immobilized all of my vehicles, and shot up my ground troops. I conceded after my 2nd turn.

Crushing Victory:

Pretty much every game with 7th edition Necrons....

But more seriously, my latest batrep I played against my friends Eldar before the new codex, and I killed everything but his Crimson Hunter, which had 1 hull point left. I hadn't lost an entire unit, only a few models here and there.

I haven't had any crushing victories, plenty of crushing defeats though...

Worst so far would be my 1800pts of Thousand Sons vs an Armoured Company... I suffered greatly in the anti-tank department, with mostly just some Obliterators, some melta-bikes and a Predator Annihilator vs lots and lots of tanks, and my army got wiped out by turn five, and I lost 14-0

Victory:
Play testing 5e grey knights book in 6e with divination everywhere, I played a handicap game of 2000 vs 2500. (GK being the 2000.)
I lost a razorback and one power armor marine. Enemy army tabled.

Another was trying out a farsight bomb +triptide list. Tabled enemy with no models lost.

My only crushing defeat was my 5e BA book against new 7e orks. I randomly picked one of my lists. Jump pack spam. I assaulted a nob deathstar that jumped far into my territory with 30 asm at once, with a couple attached priests. I was planning to overwhelm the nob squad that he overextended with and then consolidate back away from the following boy mobs. I brought the right strategy, but the wrong dice.
Rolled so pitifully that I only caused 5 wounds in combat, only 3 got through. So I offed one bullet-catcher no-equipment nob and wounded another, and then got decimated by the return attacks. Game was pretty much over right then.

*yes, out of just over 100 furious charge attacks, I dealt 3 wounds against t4. Extreme epic fail.

A few weeks ago, i decided to dust off my CSM army as a friend wanted to try out a new Tyranid army he'd picked up.

I have no idea what I did to anger Lord Tzeentch so much, but good god. To put things in perspective, I had a Nurgle biker squad (with chaos lord) charge some termagants. 2 bikers died to overwatch. One biker then proceeded to roll 9 1s and 1 2 on his to-hit rolls over the next three rounds of combat, before finally dying himself and leaving the Lord to clear out the squad. That assault was completely indicative of the entire battle. Of the first 8 dice I rolled, 6 of them came up 1s and 2 of them came up 2s. All I could do was shrug and inform my friend "Whelp. Our blood, too, is welcome."

Spoiler:
1500 points - Space Marines w/ [one] Imperial Knight (me) vs. Astra Militarum.

I don't recall the name of the mission, but it was the Maelstrom of War mission where you get a new card for each objective you hold at the start of your turn.

IIRC it ended 19 to 1. The one point AM scored was Slay the Warlord.

I actually now recalled my propably greatest victory.
Funny how it excaped my mind...

So in 6th edition, we were at our local gaming store. My friends were playing 2000 points of GK vs. Eldar while I had no models with me so I just watched.
The game ended with Eldar winning pretty easily and they started packing. I said something about wanting to try GK sometimes and he offered his army for me to use against the Eldar. The store was closing in about hour and a half so we only played a game of 1,200 points (or something like that).

I had:
10 Terminators, Librarian with them
Two Strike Squads (?)
And a Nemesis Dreadknight

His army:
Spiritseer
5 Wraithguard with D-Scythes
10 Guardians in a Serpent
10 Striking Scorpions
5 Fire Dragons
Wraithknight

I won by tabling the opponent in turn 3. I had only lost a single Strike Squad to the D-Scythes after they deep striked and killed one squad and the other squad had done nothing in the game because they were guarding an objective behind LoS-blocking terrain.

So basicly I managed to kill his entire army (except for the Guardians) with 10 Terminators, Librarian and a Dreadnkight.

It was a moment of shame for both of my friends. So I naturally consider it a great victory.

DEFEAT :
4th Edition, my Death Guard vs. Last Chancers, some points (1000? I can't remember). Sabotage mission or some such, with sentries, where the attacking player wins if they manage to keep a model in contact with the objective for a whole turn.

One of the Last Chancers kills a sentry or two, and has a special rule that makes them not raise alarms as easily. Then Hero, or some such, moves up the objective. His special rule is that if he dies, he dies next turn instead, no matter what. Game over.

JUSTICE :

I can't remember crushing victories, I only remember the exciting or hilarious games. Possibly the one with Death Guard, 2 Dreadnoughts + Defiler + DP + Plaguebearers + Plaguemarines, at 1000 pts, vs. Armoured Company (that was a Leman Russ army), in 4th. IIRC the only casualty I took was the Defiler's Battle Cannon, who then casually strolled up a Leman Russ and rip it open (also fuzzy memory, but I think 4th ordnance hit at half strenght outside the hole in the center, so battle cannons were fairly crap against AV12 walkers since their profiles are so small).

Crushing victory
Orks against marines (cant remember chapter, maybe blood angles) around 1500 or 2000 points - in of of the earlier edition games.
tabled opponent and only lost a single warbike. Thats was back when heavy weapons couldnt snapfire at all, the opposing player hid all his devastators on turn one. And only send a single unit out from cover to fire... next turn when they were stationary.

Crushing defeat Orks versus spacewolves back in 2nd edition, around 1500 points?

We both set up our armies... and the spacewolf player plants a virus bomb in my deployment zone.... I never got my turn..
