Is it possible to create some program, which can understeand bases for AB 2.2c?
There are still many 2.2 supported systems. It will be good to have some free / open source programs which can read them

Yes. But it's slow to start, disturbing popup windows and updates in way more suitable for programmers not lame users.
And my question about converting all bases for AB2.2 humanity made into living program, not just made another bases.
As free and updated AB 40k alternative - Battlescribe is ok

I am after the answer as well OP as I quite often play older versions of 40K, specifically 3rd and 4th and those data files don't work under AB 3.x I believe. Likewise, Battlescribe is a non-starter as no-one authors those files.

Edit: Actually, 4th Ed 40K is available on the Supplemental Downloads site. Now I just need to track down Man O' War data files!
