We recently broke out Space Hulk for the first time in a couple of years, as a friend was down visiting.

We played Mission 1, Marines won.

We moved to the floor as Mission 2 was too big for the table.

We left the room for a few minutes.

When we came back one of my cats had taken an almighty piss in the box lid. The White Dwarf from 2009: soaked. Several board tiles: now with added biological danger. Lid: a rancid yellow puddle, rapidly soaking into the card. I was just grateful I put my counters in ziplock bags, or they'd all be ruined!

DAMN YOU CAT.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"

I had a similar mishap with my realm of battle carry bag - my kitten took a dump in it. The bag was beyond salvage (along with a bunch of the clips that were in there too).

Never leave open boxes or bags alone if there is a cat around, never. Cats are like liquids they want to take form of reservuars and inevetably will try to do it.

Yikes, that sucks! I've luckily never had that problem with my cats. They are generally well behaved, unless its time to go to the vet.
