I don't own the current codex, but after reading a lot of articles and watching a few battle reports, it seems that at the moment Dark angels are in a bit of a bad spot, do you think games workshop will do enough to address the current issues? Do their best to bring them up to SM standards??

Well we're getting grav weapons, so that should already apply a cooling balm to ease our woes. So long as we get half of the stuff in C:SM we should do alright, especially when we're no longer the test bed. Instead of being the experimental subject like in the 6th Edition, we're now in the middle of the 7th. This can only herald good things to come.

Dark Angels are basically THE army for Decurion style formations and detachments. I personally have a hunch the Codex will be more powerful than the new vanilla one ( thus eclipsing Blood Angels. )
They can't nerf many things atleast, because there isn't much to nerf. I pretty much see buffs allround coming with the new book.
But in a way I don't want it to be true, because then I'd have to fight myself about not purchasing a Dark Angels army... the second time.

If they put it on level with C:SM, I would be happy. I doubt it will be more powerful, but it shouldn't be as terribad as it is right now. Expect some formations that allow stuff like the Ravenwing to function. And if the Ravenwing get Grav-bikes and a formation or detachment to utilize said grav-bikes to their fullest, DA will be a beast. I hope Mixedwing and Greenwing are made viable, which seems possible as they will likely be getting vehicle squadrons.
tl;dr I think they will be fixed.

The fact that the dakka banner is on the new transfer sheet (and looks awesome) means it should still be in the new dex. whether they nerf it or not is another thing.
If we get the kind of formations that the SM have, then we will be better already. the fact that weapons and units are supposed to align more with the SM can also only be a good thing.
What i really want is more options for attack bikes. fething ceramite plating ruins the only decent anti armour that the ravenwing can bring atm, and i'm seeing it more and more. If i can fit AB/LS with grav cannons, i'll be so very happy

I'm sure the Dark Angels will be better. Will they be as powerful as the Codex-compliant chapters? Who knows. It all hinges on one unit or formation being uber.

Prospects are looking really good. Even the "weakest" 7ed codex still has several really good builds and can be very powerful in the hands on a reasonably skilled player. There haven't been as many utter flops as 5ed or 6ed yet...really just chosen so far.

Yes, I agree Though there is still disappointingly great disparity in power level between the best codices and the worst. Basically, if you want to "play it safe", pick Eldar or Space Marines, because for most editions, GW has reliably made both of them pretty playable. Plus you get the most juice out of their books. Or pick Dark Angels or Blood Angels, and fall back to playing them as green/red vanilla if you don't like your codex. But life is too short to play it safe. PAINT THAT GENESTEALER HORDE ARMY BABY.

If DA terminators get no changes, but reduced to 175 like the C:SM ones (or hell 185-190) that would be a boost of epic proportions. (Saving about 35pts on a whole!)

CWE and SM have a very clear army design concept. CWE are high damage and high tech so they have nasty weapons and exotic defenses. SM have superior stat lines and fast insertion methods. You are absolutely right that these two armies are consistently well designed and have good internal synergy.
Out of the 7ed codexes; Necrons, Skitarii, CWE, Khorne, and Cult. The Khorne is the only codex that is significantly weaker than the others and even then Khorne is really just hard to play well and has a significant number of trap units, not as many believe utterly outclassed. When forgeworld gets their stuff together and allows khorne units to be taken in a khorne daemonkin army you will see Khorne Daemonkin start to really come into their own, forgeworld just provides the synergy units KD Chaos in general lacks. Funny enough the only unit I cannot figure out anything truly useful to do with is possessed. I usually end up hiding them and making the champ my warlord to avoid giving up warlord. My Lion of Oz possessed as it were.

You should check out the new SM termie formation. +1 shot when they DS. I can finally field my ~50 termies without people coming up and pitying me.

I think that it's going to vary a lot on what they decide to do with the names hq's and how they address the elephant in the room, that we have no way of fighting a plane beyond harsh words and snapshots.
The codex will get a boost but I think we will still chase our brothers shadows for performance and power. Real talk we are going to get a lot better but I doubt we will be a power book like codex marines are. There's too much that they need to do for them to do something like that. The 6th edition dark Angels book is a product of generations of neglects to our army, similar to the ork book it's going to be a massive improvement but it won't be everything it needs to be and it's going to fall short.
It will probably size up nicely against the weaker codex marine armies like raven guard and the blood Angels though and this could mean lots of fun matches for me in the future as the marine players have really started crawling out of their doc holes lately at my local store after that disaster of a necron codex. I personally get lots of my jollies from playing other marines be it chaos or whatnot. I find its one of the rare matches where you get to see 40k as it was ment to be played and experienced. Lots of people pass the matches off
For bland gaming but they are also the same people that can't imagine a 40k without gimmick builds and cheese stacking and treat the game more like a tcg with models than a models game on a table.

Nah I agree with others. I think it will be on par. Every codex that's used a decurion detachment seems to be on an equal power level give or take.
I have high hopes for the dark angels and they aren't a 'test bed'

You could be wrong. Yes there is a strong possibility of Dark Angels getting grav weapons but nothing is proven yet or even rumoured yet. As do I think GW will fix them? In our eyes, no they won't. In their eyes? It will be fun and enjoyable. So I believe, most of us will be unhappy with it and complain still.

Highly doubt that they will be better or even on par with the Codex Reroll Marines.
After all, all the Chaos Space Marines gets shaffted pretty hard in the nuts each time, i don't see Why Dark Angels would be different...

The proof is that Devastators have been painted in Dark Angels colors with grav.
They do not currently even HAVE grav weaponry.
Games Workshop does not paint showcase models up in those color schemes if they're not going to have access to the items in question.
The proof also would be that the Devastators are not listed yet under the Heavy Support section for Dark Angels--or any of the non-Codex Space Marines army sections.
If they were just haphazardly putting the Dev Squad set into every army despite the army currently not having grav cannons, then they would be in the Heavy Support sections already.

While that would be awesome, it wont happen as there is no model for them (same with attack bikes) and its not likely one will be released
