I am wondering if you can mount weapons on models where they are normally not mounted? For example on a Tau crisis suit can you mount missile pods on the sides of the jump pack aiming up instead of on the shoulders. Call it a conversion maybe? lol

Unless it is blatant modeling for advantage sure it's fine. Rule of Cool always gets the benefit of the doubt.

For Infantry models it makes no difference whatsoever. For vehicles, there would be a rules impact since you measure from the weapon. I would say absolutely yes for any non-vehicles. For vehicles, be prepared for opponents to be unhappy if the conversion gives in game advantage... unless the conversion looks super cool. The I find most people don't care.

Okay thanks guys. the new mounting location is only 1 or 2mm from the shoulder mounting point. so It shouldn't be a big deal. I just don't like missile pods attached to the arms on battle suits lol.

Sorry for the double post but just to clarify since walkers are not vehicles does the measure from weapon apply or is it from the model. I am still learning the game lol.

Walkers are vehicles.

Battlesuits are not walkers.

It isn't just acceptable to mount your crisis suit weapons in odd locations, its fairly common.

You'll find that for Riptides a lot too since the "canonical" location for their secondary weapons is... well, thunderdumb.

Outside of on vehicles where they draw LOS from their gun, you can put whatever you want on your models.
