I Experienced some trouble the Last Times i played with dudes claiming ridiculous line of sights...
I think about using a laserpointer in case of trouble.
Someone does this already?

Do not kill. Do not rape. Do not steal. These are principles which every man of every faith can embrace.

We use a laser pointer from time-to-time to make decisions on line of sight, not because anyone is claiming anything ridiculous, but because sometimes its just hard to tell.

They are very useful.

I got a two pack of the at Petsmart for that very reason. Very small and able to fit in to hard to squeeze places.

Really does rule out a lot of guess work.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

I use them sometimes, they are very helpful when you can't really tell if there is LoS or not

Then the tongue.
Then the hands.
Then the feet
Then we skin the crippled remains.

I say do it. It wouldn't be a jerk thing to do either. Just bring it up as if they would be as excited that you brought one.
As soon as they start claiming LOS of something just get out the laserpointer and say "Oh hey check it out! I brought a markerlight!"
While I haven't seen many people in my store do it, I would be supportive of using one.

Oh and remember, weapons and banners don't count for LOS.

GW even sold a LOS laser pointer at one time.

Seems like a good idea. If the light hits arms, legs, or head you are good to go. My buddy and I usually let our opponents call it, then ask for the same. (Keeps em honest haha)
I may start using this because of your post, though

I prefer getting my eye along the line. can do this from the gun or target.

occasionally, if you still cant agree, I guess a pointer may help demonstrate to someone not adept at squinting that a line exists.

We've used them from time to time.

The real root cause here might be a beardy player. Does he offer you similar latitude?

If not, I would just say no thanks to a game.

We use them any time LoS isn't instantly clear.

Like for vertical differences or if you have to shoot through windows. Very helpful and reduces discussions.

usually only takes a second or two to measure LoS without having to awkwardly bend down.

i encourage you to get one which can project in a line as well. we have used these to judge the 45 degree arc from hull mounted weapons, or even sponsons.

Tremendously useful. and not prickish at all.

Sometimes people in this game use their top down perspective to dictate cover or LOS, and just getting down and looking is big. Laser pointer makes it as accurate as you can be.

I think you could get pretty fancy with these. Red for the Imperium, green for Necrons, blue for Tau and Eldar... army-themed LOS-testers.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

I've used a laser pointer before and they're quite useful when LOS isn't clear

It's a matter of convenience in the one game I've played and my opponent used one. If you even vaguely wonder about LOS he just shines the laser and it's clear as day that they are good. No moving around the table, no bending over, no peering. Very good for when multiple tables are in a line so one or both short ends of the table are blocked, makes life easier,

I'm making a knight army eventually. Plan to wire it up with light up eyes and so forth. I'm also planning on making the arms and weapons fully movable - with built in lazer pointers. Move the gun press a button - bingo. No dispute or contorting over the table for Los.

Not possible on smaller stuff but Knights - should be easy

Laser pointers are a yes. I got one for every regular player in our gaming group for Christmas last year. Big hit.... we also have a cat living in the shop, so much entertainment.

Pretty much everyone at my store uses a combination of pointers and laserlines. I know out of my group of 3 or 4 of us that regularly play together we each have a laser line on our keys so we can quickly measure LOS easily.

I see no downside in it really. It's hard to argue with a laser. "Look, it hits the wall" or "yup, it's a clear line to your model"
