The Governor of my great state saw fit to allow her free-loading daughter to park a trailer on the grounds of the Governor's mansion and siphon free electricity and water.

Yes, it's the same daughter who thought it would be an awesome idea to be the Governor's daughter and wear a war-bonnet replica as someone of 0 Native American ancestry, in a state with a large Native American population:


And then responded to ridicule by appearing at a concert, yes she's also in a horrible band that plays terrible music, in a shawl that copied NA regalia made from a window drape with the word, "Sheep" painted on it. A word that she and her band used to describe the people who earlier criticized her wearing of the war bonnet.

27 years old and has been married twice. The first wedding was a high-profile event that took place in Ireland and since the Governor attended, public dollars were used to fly her and her security escort of Highway Patrol officers to Ireland (would have loved to have been on that detail). Less than a year later, she filed for annulment then remarried 7 weeks later and was divorced by the second guy 5 months later.

What a winner.

Meh, just people here getting fed-up with the whole Fallin regime. The camper thing was kind of the straw the broke the camel's back and since they're public figures it's not a "hit" piece or every news outlet in the state and some national ones would be in the same boat.

There are motorcycle style RVs (the entire back opens and you paull your bikes in). She could have gotten one of those and carried that cute little care in the RV with her.

To be fair, it's not like her daughter is the only person that moves in with her parents. The Governors step-son is currently living in the apartment above the garage as well .

But honestly, I don't really have a problem with the kids moving in with the parents if there are hard times. They won't be the first, they won't be the last. gak happens.

My whole thing was that the trailer process went like this:

- people found out that the daughter is living there with her trailer hooked up to the utilities
- people pointed out that this is against city code
- the people responsible with enforcing the code and the governor's office were quick to point out that this is state property and city codes don't matter
- people pointed out that the governor's mansion is inside a special district that was created by the city, the legislature, and the governor's office to make sure nothing shady is going
- that special district has codes that prohibits the trailer
- when that was pointed out to the governor's office the trailer was moved

If you are going to move your kid into the trailer behind the garage, you think that someone on your staff would know if it was against the rules or not.

You know, there are three branches of our government. You have the Supreme Court, the legislative branch and the people, the people and their ability to vote. So I’m hoping that we can address this issue in the legislative session and let the people of Oklahoma decide.

I don't know about Scott but Joey is part Native American; that doesn't mean that his tribe traditionally wears headresses though.

Turns out Joey is Iroquois on his mother's side and they do wear headdresses as part of their regalia.

Anyways, I don't really see a problem other than her being out in a special RV. When I am having financial problems, the first thing people ask me is "Why not move back in with your parents"? I feel this should apply to her also.

I agree, but on the other (third? what a weird coin...) flipside: The whole head dress thing started because she was wearing it while performing with her band at a concert (if I remember it right). If you do stupid stuff in public you also don't get to be exempt from comment on it just because you happen to be a politician's daughter. I'm not talking about public in the sense of "going out for coffee at starbucks" but "performing at a concert with your band".

And like I said earlier: For me the whole trailer thing isn't a story because the governors daughter moved back home. It's a story because it was a stupid violation of code that anybody should have been able to find after spending 5 minutes looking through papers before deciding to move a trailer into the yard of the mansion.
