So they don't sell the Finnish HQ models separate, so are giving you the whole box sets with MMG, sniper they come in instead? That's generous.

I am loving some of the new stuff that is coming out - My Germans and British need more!

On a side note I also need to get my British some transports.... So that the Infantry can keep up with my three Churchill armoured platoon

Kind of an old question, but does the Germany Strikes book come with rules for the Neubaufahrzeug? The Heer used 3 during Operation Weserubung.

How "good" an army does it make? I've been eyeing it somewhat.

With the AT teams it seems like an decent anti-infantry firepower list if you make all the troops, though lacking in counters for more than 1 or 2 tanks unless you equip the infantry squads with AT grenades.

At 1000 points you should not really be facing more than 1 or 2 tanks...

Unless you are facing an armoured platoon there is unlikely to be more than one tank in a 1000 point game.

About this Neubaufahrzeug - I am liking the sound of this even more. It may just persuade me to start my early war armies ahead of schedule

At the bare minimum, a very good army. A great army. A fantastic Continuation War army. The BT-42 wrecks infantry (HE 2d6) and can hurt lighter tanks (med howitzer is +3 pen so can destroy and damage up to a medium tank from the front). Taking the Panzerschreck gives you a nasty +6 penetration in a 24" bubble so every tank is wary of you. Finnish infantry squads can be Tough Fighters. The BA-6 (BA-10 really) is Recce and a Light antitank gun (+4) so is useful for hitting enemy tanks, plus LMG's. If you want to play earlier, 1940 Winter War, sub in the Antitank Rifle and get a T-26A (dual MG turrets) or T-26E (antitank gun turret)

aanddd Finnish snipers are the best. Because if you give them Advance, they can move, and then if they don't shoot, the order die flips to Ambush.

Those would make for some awesome conversions. IIRC although Lasguns are a bit too bit for BA bodies. Here's one conversion I've seen;

GW guns always look absurd on normally proportioned bodies, heck the las gun is taller than most guard models!

Why not use the guns they come with? Rules wise an autogun=a lasgun.
