GW, like it has done this week, tries to peddle new formations in an army that needs a codex more than anything, this being the Grey Knights? I don't play them but i have wanted to 'hack away' at a force for a while but I am waiting for them to be competitive, instead they want us to invest in models, when BOLS is suggesting they are a lower tier army. I like GW for the most part, but it bihs me when they fuel the naysayers with ammo for their bolters, with actions tell me they tend to be about money grabs first and their adherents second (or third or last...)

It bugs me when someone doesn't complete the point of their thread in its title. The point of a title is missed when you do this

I hate it when GW gives the downers ammo too. Like with every codex release this year, their board meetings, their price hikes, the pay to win formations, the 1-2 year codex cycles, the scrapping of a venerable and much beloved setting and their flagrant contempt for their own consumer base. It really makes it easy for those downers to shout us GW lovers down, huh?

Thought for the day: Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

"tries to peddle new formations in an army that needs a codex more than anything" is the point. Made at the beginning. Sorry if I am unclear

Gw are Michael Bay of wargaming it's all about the greenqueens. So no it doesn't bother me

Gks do have new codex and ain't gonna get another one anytime soon and they are still okish compared to orks and deldar 7th ed.

Just kinda learn to roll with it. However if you like gk aesthetics go for em anyway plus describe competetive slaping bland tasting gravcent as allies make em competetive ish

I gotta admit that I'm a tad concerned (and a little annoyed) about them putting all their eggs in one basket by focusing on AoS alone for so long now.

AoS isn't doing so well at my local store. I wouldn't say it's doing really poorly, but it isn't doing well. There sure are a lot of new models and scenery pieces coming out for AoS while nothing new is coming out for 40K at all. Don't get me wrong, I have a small AoS army, and I look forward to playing. But, if they'd just show that they care even slightly for 40K rather than just showcasing models that have been out for ages, it would make me feel more comfortable.

40k had a monopoly on GWs attention for at least a year before AoS dropped. 6 weeks to push a new game doens't seem unreasonable.

There is a new web bundle, but no new formation to go with it. The only reason to buy it is if you want all of the models and are too lazy to click "add to cart" multiple times. This is just GW trying to keep the WH40K page from remaining stagnant while they release no new products.

Still waiting for Godot.

GW's customer-hating release schedule has now had me take refuge in 6mm 40k. Hunting bitz on ebay, and finding compatible 6mm suppliers has been a feature of my hobby recently. It's better than playing games I know I cannot win, simply because GW refuses to update fairly or in a timely fashion.

Honestly is the GK codex even that bad, they have plenty of decent units and are still very popular as allies for other IoM armies

I know it's fun to bash on GW but GK shouldn't be priority for a new codex right now imho

GK are still good, but people are still pretty mad that they gutted the Inquisition units from the codex and locked them behind a paywall in the form of dataslates.

You mean the same year that the End Times dropped with many new kits and five major books? And it's currently AOS is going on for about 12 weeks.

That's not to say that 40k hasn't gotten more attention, but still. It's been a long draught.

AoS launched officially on 7/11/2015. It's at two months and two weeks (75 days) now. That's a good bit more than six weeks, and I have a feeling that they are nowhere near finished yet. My best guess is that they are just filling the front page with models that have been around forever while they are working to get the next AoS kits, books, formations, etc. out the door.

The Nemesis Strikeforce org chart is pretty damn boss, and while extremely limited in choices, overall GK's are rather mean outside of trying to go toe-to-toe with the half dozen or so "Tournament" top tier lists.
What I honestly enjoy most about them is that I can finally put my Daemons on the table and actually have game, instead of being automatically tabled like the 5th edition codex did!

As for the =I= rules, it's not too hard to google them and find a free copy... Normally I would never encourage such things, but personally I feel GW are being massively unfair in this case, as not all of us have tablets or e-readers, without which it's impossible to actually buy the damn rules!
considering that all the AoS stuff is 'free', something as limited in scope as =I= or Assassmo's should be similarly available to everyone, instead of being locked behind the requirement of having an expensive toy a goodly number of people don't even want in the first place.

Its bugs me when someone writes makes a poorly named thread like this to complain about a codex that is way ahead of orks.

To clarify... It is not the actual army or the codex, it is GW's habit.of releasingodels bundles and formations. They have done it to Orks a few times. My son and I have a bunch of Orks, and this really started me.off when I saw all the models etc. being released.for Orks. I used the GK as an example because it is GW's latest army they have done this with.
I agree the focus on AoS is really lopsided. It wouldn't hurt to take one week to give 40K some love.

Well, as has been mentioned, we did have over a year strait of 40k releases before the AoS re-branding of the entire Fantasy game, so it's not really that awful that we've now gone about 3 months with zero 40k releases.

We know we've got Octauber on tap, and then rumors of Horus Heresy stuff. Beyond that, we've had whisperings of IG, Deathwatch + Genesneaker Cults and of course, every 15min another plea for some CSM help.
