As some of you might have already noticed GW is coming out with more and more powerful units, formations and dexs and its all thanks to those people that just sit at home and play with the models they have and haven't really got anything new and a long time. WHFB is a prime example of this. The company needed to find a way to make sales so they jacked up the prices on most things and released powerful stuff so that people would want to buy it, (eldar pretty much was sold out of most units for at some points months at a time) so to all those people that don't buy anything and just complaine about the game and how strong and OP stuff is, technically it's your fault it happend.

Alpharius, you sexy beast, I request an instalock in the name of all that is good, right, and democratic.

Also, what? For a start, you've completely missed the point of GW, models come first in GW. It's been that way since 2001.
WHFB was losing sales because to an outsider, it was just another fantasy setting, whereas 40k was something unique, urging people on. I'm not saying Fantasy was unoriginal but to me it seems like a Tolkien rehash.

Blame everyone except yoursel, great. Because Eldar isn't the scourge of 40k as-is.

1. Fantasy did not die-off and turn into AoS because of GW wanting 'MOAR Power!' Fantasy died off most of all because of high cost of entry to the game itself. 8th edition, for all the venom & hate it got from the vocal minority, was overall a vast improvement on the hugely stagnant and boring 7th edition.
Unfortunately, to get even a viable 1500pts, most armies, (re: everyone bar WoC and Ogres), had to shell out $500-700+. And the 'standard' game size was typically closer to 2200-2400pts, while 3000pts was also easily doable.

For that same cost, you could get a full standard sized 40k army.

2. Eldar Scatbikes only happened because of the models coming before the rules. The kit was in the works, and almost certainly finished well before any new rules were put to paper. Because the kit had already been designed with Scatterlasers & Shuricannon for each rider, the codex thus was written to allow for such units. Did GW cost them properly? No they didn't, but this wasn't some cunningly evil master plan by GW - it was simply allowing people to field ALL the possible options that model kit came with.

I'd be willing to bet wearing a god damned Maple Loafs jersey that the same thing is why we now have Grav Devastators. The models came first, and because the sculpters/marketing though, "hey how cool would this look?!" and designed the parts, the rules thus got added in.

There's no hidden plan to anything. GW themselves admit that they make models first, then make up some rules to go with them after the model is made.

Warhammer is pay to win, and if you can't see that then idk what to tell you. All games work shop cares about is money and they no that if you come out with crazy rules people will buy it.
You can't sit there and say "oh it costs 500-700$ to start a army" then start the army why are you in this hobby if your not helping support it.?

So... Are you opposed to people paying for power or not?

Thought for the day: Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.
30k Ultramarines: 2000 pts
Bolt Action Germans: ~1200 pts
AOS Stormcast: Just starting.
The Empire : ~60-70 models.

Nope. According to Dman and Ravenous D, if you're not buying a new army every month, playing games every single day, crushing souls at 'Tournaments' and so on, then you're a goob who sucks at life.

Be careful - the fallout from even a mods banhammer being deployed can be catastrophic to the forum!

I think a ban is a bit OTT. At least he generates a bit of debate and some ideas here and there.
I'd prefer a bit of back and forth than another "is skyhammer good" or "should the iom kill off the Tau" threads.....

To the op, man take it easy. If you dont want to buy more stuff from GW nobody is forcing you to do it. You have many options:

1. Play with people with beers and pretzels with the minis you have. If you loose, is the way the game is. I do play with what I have and loose most the times. Meh!

2. Sell your stuff.

3. Play other games. There is Infinity, Warmachine, Dropzone Commander, Mantic, X-Wing and more.

Keep up the fight!

fascinating as your attempts to ... I dunno.. engage/enrage the community are, you'll really be much better off putting a bit more time, thought and effort into your posts.
