Hey guys, sorry if this has been addressed already but I did a quick search and didn't find an older thread on the subject.

When should we be expecting Wave 8? I figure it's safe to assume that's when we'll see T-70 and FO TIE single packs?

I'd like to finish up my collection (with the exception of the huge ships) and was curious about how much time I had before another wave came out. What's the standard length of time between releases? Do we think that the new movies will accelerate or decelerate this? Wave 7 came out quite recently, right?

Well, they say Q4 2015, so my guess is February.

They are probably aiming for Late November/Early December, to catch movie hype/Christmas rush. That said, we have not seen detailed previews for most of the Wave 8 stuff, so it's still a ways away.

Alex Davey (lead designer) seemed pretty sure they'd be out for Novemeber the last time I heard an interview with him, but I'm incredibly salty on that.

That said, the ships must have been ready to go for a while (previews were at Gencon) so while they're still showing "in development" it wouldn't be utterly beyond reason for a late Nov/early Dec launch.

Just unlikely.

I know FFG doesn't typically get waves out on time, but given the fact that Episode VII is being released in December, I have a feeling that we'll see Wave 8 before then.

I suspect there is Major pressure from Disney to get the Force Awakens stuff out in time for the film release. I'd be surprised if we had to wait till February.

Well, those two Awakens ships at the very least, are sculpted, approved, paintmasked, etc as we already have them in a different format. I think if worse comes to worst, they may get released as a "mini-wave" if the other ships aren't ready. Are Huge Ships typically lumped in with a wave or released on their own?

The Gozanti is ahead of the others anyway, already at the printers IIRC

Huge ships are not part of waves.

Yeah, I'm also getting pretty skeptical about that claim. If FFG is still on schedule for a November release then where are the previews? Normally we get one ship a week, with a couple of last "don't forget there's a new wave to buy" articles at the very end as the ships are on their way to the stores. Even assuming that FFG publishes the first preview tomorrow and drops the end-of-wave filler there's barely enough room to get them out by the end of November. My guess is things are behind schedule and FFG is holding the previews until they know what the new release date is going to be.

Mondays are nearly always preview day (as its my club night, and they invariably appear whole I'm there.) If there isn't one this week, I'd say before Christmas is very dicey.

Just checked the page at FFG. Wave 8 is still "In Development". The Gozanti is on the boat!!! That means that we will likely see the Gozanti before Christmas... Wave 8 is very unlikely. I'd say that a May release for Wave 8 is more likely. They are way at the bottom of the page.

Wave 8 has been in development since August though, and while I too am skeptical (but hopeful) of a pre-Xmas release, May is a little pessimistic.

I did preorder the Imperial Raider the day after Christmas and it didn't arrive until late summer. Wave 8 was announced Summer: May might be too optimistic.

Maybe the OP can make a poll, and we can put our guesses there.

But what do we win for being the closest?

Is FFG on a Kickstarter schedule, then?

Seamingly, yes.

If they do end up overshooting the movie by a bit, maybe they'll wait until Disney releases it on Triple Disc Combo Pack with Digital Download(tm).

At least they don't "put them back in the vault" like they used to do...

All the stores here have been saying halfway into january for weeks (I'm in europe) since we tend to be about a month late compared to the US, half of December seems like its FFG's target date (and the new movie comes out on the 12th I believe?) seems logical and plausible to me.

No. The only ships related to the new movie in this wave are the only ones which we have actually seen the detailed preview for. The rest are related either to Legends or Rebels.

Are the new single T-70 and TIE/FO ships officially in wave 8? Or are they wave 8.2?
Most Americans recognize the ridiculousness of Black Friday and I could totally see something being sold that day for sure. I'm hopeful that the others get a as close to Dec 18th release as possible to coincide with the movies. I really don't see the big deal as they've been selling Legos and action figures for 6 months

They're officially Wave 8, as per FFG's website.

Do you think they'll give us different paint masks?

I just finished my black/orange T-70 and it is gorgeous in those colours.

I would not be surprised to see a "Resistance Aces" box turn up by the end of the Trilogy, with any new Falcon/T-70 pilots that appear. We may see it there.

... that would be a damn shame for me to have to repaint a second one just because I am impatient. But it would fit the pattern.

They could sell just the new radar dish for the Falcon. Not quite a prestige buy, but it is rather easy to change it on the existing model. (Of course, with a bunch of cards and tokens) I know, it won't happen. But I'd rather see new ships rather than repackages of old ones.

Wave 8 was last updated mid-September on the FFG Upcoming page. It is "Still in Development" not even at the printers. I can't see how November is reasonable. It takes at least 6 weeks to change from "On the Boat" to "Shipping Now"... "At the Printers" usually takes months as well. It's safe to say that we are AT LEAST 6 months out.

The long and the short of it is that X-Wing is taking a lot of the production capacity of game houses in China. Add in Armada, Imperial Assault, and Descent (not to mention other customers those game houses produce for) there has been a huge spike in demand over the last few years. There are a lot of moving pieces... cardboard, cards, the plastic clamshell, the models, the blue dot. If any of those aren't ready at the time the printer has slated, the whole job gets pushed back. To be honest, I'm really surprised that Christian even said "End of the Year" at the Flight Report at Gencon when only the new core-set was on the boat.

To reiterate... there is nothing in the T-70 or TIE-FO clamshells that hasn't been revealed already. There are no 'hidden' pilots, etc.

I expect to see a Kessel Run/Massing at Sullist event for wave 8 in May... they are going to miss that 'end of the year' target by that much. I'm just glad that FFG does do fun things for their customers and fans like those events when things go awry.

I also hope to see a new Aces boxes next fall... hopefully connected to the Star Wars: Rogue One movie. Maybe new pilots for the TIE Bomber and Y-Wing? I am hoping that we FFG will get enough of a forewarning from Lucas Film that they can actually include pilots with NAMES in a product like this.

Wrong. Here's a list of unknowns from the Two kits:

-PS7 T-70- name and ability unknown
-"Targeting Astromech"- name only partially visible, ability only partiality visible
-"Epsilon Ace"- Name only partially visible, ability unknown
-"Zeta Leader"- Name only partially visible, ability unknown.

Costs unknown for all.
