Gonna go through a gamestore today. Don't have any wargaming friendly stores local, but I'm usually disappointed when I go anyway. Combination of model saturation and lack of the right brands at the store... But as long as they have gw paints I've got a short list.

Today I'm torn between assembling some more Tau fire warriors of all things, and painting my orclings.

I must say, the firewarrior kit is preeety nice. I managed to make 13 instead of the advertised 10 by borrowing and modifying a few old cadian torsos. I'm using all the gubbinz, and hoping that the Start Collecting! set hasn't pushed me onto a too slippery slope.

I am eagerly awaiting for my second order of oyumaru to arrive as I can then crank up the casting output to 33/34 bases every two days.

Uninstalling World of Tanks because there are some half-made plastic dark elves sitting beside me here, threatening to write 'will grimace menacingly for game time' on their teeny tiny bits of corrugated cardboard.

Also because it's finally driven me up the bleedin' wall.

In between working on my Solar Auxilia tanks I've decided to stick together a pile of Jailbird bits I had been looking at for a while now, turning it into a little kitbash with the addition of some other parts for the sake of coolness. Flexible belt is from Zinge Industries, the head is from Statuesque Miniatures and the backpack is a few thin strips of plasticard for the frame, along with a pair of backpacks from the Warlord WWII US Infantry and the Wargames Factory survivor sprue.

Annoyingly enough, after thoroughly scrubbing and cleaning the resin bits, first in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent, then hot water with a drop of it, the parts are STILL GREASY.





Also, the girl is more leg than anything else. Due to a severe case of legs akimbo she's set on a 32mm base, because regular bases are too small for her.

Decided to build him a better base. Went subtle.

Putting together some Reaper Pathfinder miniatures for my Frostgrave warband. They are a lot taller than the WLG Romans that I'm using for the rest of the warband (About a head). Thankfully they are all fantasy races so I can just write it off as Elves being a lot taller than humans but still... they said they were 25mm... Liars.

Got in a couple of 15 pt games with my Cygnar for the Slow Grow League using PHaley.

Lost first game against Skorne due to a free strike taking out my Defender's hammer as it went in on PZaal. Won the second against PCaine due to the Defender rolling 11 unbolted to hit his caster.

Reaper said it was 25mm? I thought they advertised as 28mm heroic usually? Hmm.

I've spent the last few hours (on and off, just bits at at a time when I can steal a moment) magnetizing a trio of crisis suits. I figure that since I'll probably only ever own three of these I may as well go for broke and magnetize the crap out of them. I've still got some work to do, a lot of its drying though.

They have ball and socket magnetized heads and shoulders, and the rest to do are the arms and weapons, I'll magnetize all the options just because. I'm undecided on the shoulder hard points. I dint really want to magnetize all of the sensor array bits but I do like the idea of double missile pods sometimes (aesthetically, who knows if 40k allows it, I care not).

Oh randomly decided to do the torso/leg join too. If I had a half inch bearings they'd be magnificent...but just being able to turn is still pretty cool.

Finished the brothers Glott. Just have to base it. I'll have my friend's wife do it, because I suck at basing. I want the base to look amazing. Best centerpiece model I have.

Reaper advertises the Pathfinder line as 25mm heroic. These figures are easily 30-32mm being taller than even a GW Space Marine which is 28mm heroic.

Unless to Reaper heroic means "Add +5mm" I find the model descriptions misleading. I'm not going to raise too much of a stink as, like I said, I could write it off as fantasy races being taller than humans but I was still disappointed when I got them.

Yeah that's dumb that they say that. Reaper has usually been 20-30mm heroic proportions in practice.
