Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Is there anyway at all that I can give an imperial the daemon rule? I cannot take a chaos knight and my list only works when the knight is a daemon.

Not with anything connected with Citadel. Forgeworld may have something, though.

Are you a Wolf, a Sheep, or a Hound?

There is rules for Chaos Knights by FW.

they are identicale and have the same points cost has the imperials ones, except that the Chainsword give a +1 on the D chart if you strike MC and GMC.

Unfortunatly for now there is only rules and wargear for the 2 basic knights, the Paladin and the Errant.

They have aditional rules to be promoted as Deamon Knights of a God, for +50pts.

They gain the Deamon of X rules and some more rules, Khorne's Knights for example gains D3 attacks when assaulting, and rethrow the D3 dice for the stomps attacks.

Why can't you take a Chaos Knight?

Ah, so we're in tournament house rule territory. In that case, talk to the TO. If the TO says no, the answer is no. His house, his house rules.

In general though, no, there is no way to make an Imperial Knight into a Daemon from a rules perspective.

Careful there. The Chaos Knight does not gain the Deamon of X rule!
Example: the upgrade is called "Deamon KNIGHT of Nurgle" and is explaind in the data sheet. Yes, it is very similar, in that it grants the deamon USR and hartred vs the opposed god's minions, but does not grant shrouded and stealth.

The problem is that each time someone ask about this from a FW guy, they are pretty vague with their answer.

But either way the Knight counts as a Deamon alligned with X.

This is a bit off topic so I'll keep it brief but not everyone agrees with you there. If you take an upgrade then the Knight is a Daemon Aligned with X. The Daemonic Alignment section in the Daemons Codex makes it clear that a Daemon aligned with X benefits from the Daemon of X rules. Daemon of X is the alignment to whichever is their Chaos God . It's really not complicated.
