Nice report!

One very minor quibble though - you can move through (though not charge through) friendly units - so the undead could have gotten themselves out of the box that they had put themselves in. (This can be combined with Surge in entertaining ways....)

The thing that my group noticed first is how fast the game is when compared to Warhammer - we get in two games for every one game that we used to get for Warhammer

Which has led to us playing four times the games, because we are more willing to fit in another night when we know we will be getting in more games. (We also have a monthly Drunken Kings game... Kings of War as a drinking game... my good lady's idea. )

The reason I bought rules and became a real wargamer was because I wanted a properly thought out structure to govern the action instead of just making things up as I went along.

Cheers Auld Grump.

And yes you can interpenetrate, provided you have room to clear units, and provided its not a charge. Which means once battle lines close up, which they did in turn 2, it was tricky to get his 100mm deep cavalry unit into a free space.

Just remember that interpenetration in all forms does require that you pivot in places where you could legally begin/end the move. It isn't considered one fluid action.

So while you can pivot, for example, through impassible terrain, you cannot pivot through it and make a move all at once.

You also can't end your pivot on top of units/impassable terrain which really makes things messy.

Unless you're a flier I believe. They can end a pivot over a unit/object as long as they can get clear with a subsequent move/pivot.
