4th non Icestorm game coming up, ignoring hackers and links for now. Using the 20x20 system for missions.
Any tips on interesting combos or tactics are appreciated as I have no idea what I'm doing.

That's actually a pretty brutal list if your opponent has to get close to you, and you play wide open maps.

The only potential problem I see is that, unless you plan to go balls to the wall with your cheerleaders (Naffatun) you only really have one model tailored for pushing upfield hard (the Odalisque).

A few units there are definitely better than others. For example, Sekban are amazing in QK for their Fireteam: Haris ability, but without the ability to link, 4-2 movement is a little bit too order hungry for a guy who wants to attack things. The Kaplan multisnipe is good but 3 snipers + a long range rocket dude is probably going to leave you starved for offensive power. You'd be better off with dropping a couple of the long range guys and throwing those SWC and points into a unit better suited for attacking like a Jannissary HMG, Asawira Spitfire, or something like that. I've been trying to make a Khawarij work but he's just too easy to kill for a 30 point dude.

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.

Thanks!
A lot to get a handle on in this game I've definitely felt...lacking in offense, so that explains why at least from a list perspective.

We're pretty good for terrain, if anything probably too packed in the middle of the board. Based on looking around a bit I think we need some more height in our deployment zones without letting them dominate the board.

Would a boarding shotgun would be considered an offensive weapon? It seems like I should be going for something with higher burst.

Djan Sniper would probably be the one I'd stick with. Time to play with Army some more...
Thanks!

Boarding shotguns are great. Generally I prefer to throw more dice in the active turn but +6 is nothing to sneeze at. In a link they're rolling 3 dice so become a lot more attractive.

High burst is the preferred option for winning face to face rolls, but the other is simply having a better chance at winning.

You're still firing 2 burst to 1, but that +6 really gives you an edge. The disadvantage is if you misjudge the range and end up in the 0 band.

Ended up using this list in the game I talked about in the general Infinity forum.

I wasted the doctor, will need to adjust to add a nasmat.
Sticking with 200 pts for the next while so I'm having trouble fitting in the combat doctor/ nasmat I'd like to try.
Thinking I'll paint up something close to the list above first and then queue up a Jannisary Akbar Doctor once that's done otherwise I'll be flitting around like a meth addicted butterfly.

Will be putting together all the minis for my first list tomorrow or Thursday. Still fiddling:

Nasmat is a really good idea. I usually start with Doctor Plus and Nasmats prone behind my snipers so they can heal them if necessary. I'm pretty sure you can take two Nasmats linked to the Doctor and just hide the Doctor if you're worried about it getting taken out. I usually take Ghulam Docs unless I run a Sekban link team as it's probably going to be staying out of LoS, so the extra armour isn't really necessary.

Muttawi'ah can be devastating if used properly. Remember they can go dogged in the active or reactive turn so once you get them up the board they can be a real pain. Worst case scenario they get taken out on their way up, but at 5 points it's probably worth it to drain an order. Maybe try two? They only have to move half of their impetuous order towards the enemy, so try to keep them out of LoS if possible.

I would suggest getting something with smoke and chucking it on top of the Djanzaban as he will be able to see through it with his MSV2 which adds a -6 mod if they want to shoot back.

I would also question the Kaplan. If you want a spitfire unit the Hafza is a cheaper option but has the same armour. I would only go with the Kaplan if you're facing an opponent with stuff that rolls against BTS.

Finally, a Total Reaction HMG plus Hacker for Marksmanship Lvl 2 Support Ware is a really good idea. 4 dice in ARO is pretty brutal.

Thanks for the feedback!
Those are definitely on the to-do list.

Just picked up a box of Kum bikers, and will probably convert some old Naffatun's into Yuan-Yuans.

Hafza would definitely be a way to fit in another Mutt, I'll probably make that an alternate to this list.

I'm planning to be very aggresive with this list so the Mimetism has some value (in my mind anyway), and the Sekban Doctor will definitely be getting dirty as well.

I've literally just realised after your reply that Kaplan have mimetism! They're even better than I realised. Mmmm.

Kum bikers are a good way to get smoke into the list, plus the models are sweet. Yuan Yuans are QK only I believe so can't use them in vanilla.

I'm a big fan of link teams so usually run with QK sectorial. I'm personally leaning towards a full Ghulam link with bells and whistles [i.e. missile launcher, HMG]. Missile launcher is ridiculously good if you manage to get it to go off, and the +1 burst makes that likely. Everyone under the template will be making 3 rolls per hit! So many options...

Kaplan are a cracking little unit, they normally form the core link team of my QK. Their weakness is their wound value/armour if they do get hit, but they have a real toolkit of weaponry and functions. Stuff like the high BTS value will save you when you've forgotten you've got it, and the mimetism is very useful. Blitzen can knock out TAGs/HI and the adhesive launcher can be useful to incapacitate that 'terror unit' that's racing up one flank (managed to glue-gun Sun Tzu in a previous game, which I think gave me the moral victory regardless of actual outcome of the game!)

Of course another great tool of QK is using Hafza to 'top up' the link teams to 5 and get the bonus, using their disguise tomfoolery ability. Great fun if you have a decent collection of minis and a regular opponent, to keep them guessing about what's real and what isn't!
