So a while back I asked about what would be the ultimate cheese list if you had all the flood gates open (unbound, forge world, spam formations, etc...) and got a fair number of varied responses (way more variations than I had thought).

Now channel your inner jesters. What is the most lulz-worthy lists you can come up with? They don't necessarily have to win, nor should they always lose, but they should cause your opponents to go "wtf" at least once per game, if not throughout the entire game. That or strangle you out of comedic frustration (emphasis on "Comedic" here. Bringing 6 Wraithknights will cause the opponent to strangle you for an entirely different reason). While it should be a list that can leave you and your opponent walking away with a good chuckle, it should not be something that they respect for it's power.

My two favourite lists are a Mucolid Spore list and the Land Raider Spearhead.

For the mucolids, it's as many of those formations I can take (that consist of only mucolids and spore mines) in the points limit. For 1000 points it came to around 40-something mucolids that respawn on a roll of a 4+ along with a crapton of spore mines that just blanketed the table. I have yet to actually try this since getting 40+ mucolids have been...difficult (I've resorted to try and sculpt my own and casting them).

For the Spearhead, it's a 1500 point of just 6 land raiders. Bare naked vanilla land raiders. It makes one squad evaporate per turn and does little else. it lets me completely ignore the game's mission and just sit there being as useless as possible.

There's the nothing but grots list...but the laughter will soon die when you spend an hour in their movement phase.
The most random and hilarious list I can think of is a nothin but bigmek and shock stack guns (surrounded by grots), it's funny when you role that many sag tables there is bound to be a few laughs.

The 4th edition ork codex I would take Mad Dok and a huge grot army giving them all cyborg from Dok. It was really fun rolling inv saves for grots as you marched them across the board.

TOWERS FOR THE DEFENCE GOD! WALLS FOR THE MAZE THRONE!!! Aka take a metric fethton of pods, create maze, turn game into Tower Defense.

One of these days I’m going to put an all metal marine army on the table. (And yes, I know SoB players do that every game).

Another fun army on my to-do list is an unbound Seven Samurai list. All captains, just captains, seven models.

Wouldn't you also need a bunch of peasants?

Also, one of the captains would have to be dead and buried before the battle starts, right?

41 squads of 3 nurglings would be hilarious. Deploy and desperately try to gain enough objectives to win before your opponent can table you or ruin your board control.

I bet it would be too weak to even accomplish that haha. But the little buggers are surprisingly tough, not many 45 point units can kill them quickly. Pretty much a troll list haha.

I could use a bunch of scouts as peasants and not go unbound, but that’s a lot of tax to get 7 HQs on the table. Puts the points up a lot higher then I’d like. While amusing to do a more literal version, I’m thinking more of an “inspired by” list. I could call it a "Magnificent Seven" list, but thought I’d go back to the source.

Which I should re-watch. Classic.

You could also field them as librarians and use the Librarius Conclave. Cheese and theme.

While that makes a lot of sense mechanically, it goes against my who reason behind wanting to play the list:

I originally thought of the list when I realized I had enough to do it, I was just waiting until I got more painted:

Since then I’ve added two more captains to my collection (from the BaC box) and painted up one of them and two of the guys from the picture. So it might actually happen now.

Because lets be honest here. Any marine player who has been in the game for a few years has more captains on the shelf then he could ever use. I’m at the point that I have more then a chapter should have!

I...actually only have 3 captains. 2 AoBR ones and a metal one from a deal I got a long time ago.

This is despite the fact I have enough marines for 3 full companies. I have a crapton of chaplains though.

Also two of my friends decided to play a shoota-green tide against a FRFSRF IG gunline.

We had to use literal buckets of dice for each shooting phase.

Sometime I'd like to field an army composed entirely out of Chaos Cuotist with Autopistol+ CC weapon and imagine them literally jumping on the enemy to suffocate them to death when they get into melee.

Just multiple formations of the Recon company (6-12 Sentinels) in the Mont'ka book. So many chicken walkers.

A few of my theme lists

"Nobz and Gobz" All Nob and Gretchen based units. Grots for troops and lots of Nobz, Meganobz, Flash Gitz, Killa Kanz, and Mek Guns.

"Blitz-a-Kriega" 2k point army that is a Blitz Brigade with 3 dakkajets in a 2K point army. Its decently competitive (not at a tournament level though) but still a lot of fun to play.

"A List of Four Armies" 2k point army consisting of a GK Libby + Terminators, Inq with 2 Chimera carrying plasma gun Acolytes, a Psyker, and Jokaero. Also have a Skyhammer with Grav Cannons, Heavy Bolters, and Space Wolf Blood Claws, Lascannon Long Fangs, and Skyclaw allies.

I once played an all Footsoldier Tau list, so only Firewarrios, Pathfinders and Kroot, as HQ an Ethereal and a Fireblade.
Was a lot of fun and I actually won.

I would LOVE to see an all Kroot list some day with Great Gnarlocs, Riders etc. etc.

Kroot use to be a standalone army in the old Chapter Approved books. It's a shame they didn't come out with a standalone codex for them since, as mercenaries, it would totally fit their theme (being Allies of Convenience for all factions barring Tyranids, Daemons and Tau).

Somewhere on YMDC, someone posted a perfectly legal bound list with over 30 Drop Pods (35, I think).

Can you find the link to that? In a CAD, even if every unit had a drop pod (disregarding HQ's) you could only fit 15. I'd be interested to see that, and know at what points they'd be playing.

I've wanted to run nothing but Ethereal Councils from the Mont'Ka book. If unbound, maybe stuff them inside drop pods and deepstrike them, with their honor blades and equalizers for a terrible, terrible melee force that gives bonus victory points as each model is killed.

It was Kriswall and it went something like this:

Fleshtearer Detachment

1 Techmarine (cheapest HQ)

1 bare minimum tactical squad + 1 Drop Pod

6 Fast Attack Drop Pods

repeat ad nausem until you fill up your points. This is the cheapest way (even counting Champions of Fenris) to stack the gak out of drop pods.

EDIT: I also challenged him to a match if he ever visits Canada against my spore list. Two hilarious lists against eachother.

Its kind of off the wall because nobody really fields Stormboyz and Iove the idea of a giant blob of boyz that can keep up with my Trukk Boyz.

I have 15 captains... none of which are on bikes. Two, however, are UM tank commanders.

A friend of mine has an army of 350 chaos cultists. Does better than you'd think competitively. 1500 points.

8 Russes and 600 points of off-board, inaccurate artillery. Never wins but fun and quick!
