Okay, so I bought a Chaos Land Raider today, for 78$, and there is Imperial insignia, ALL OVER IT! I mean, really? The front hatch has the double headed Imperial Eagle on it, and there are more of them on the treds. I'm not sure what to do about it, I'm kinda heated to be honest. Any of you Chaos players find a way over this problem? I mean, I might have to scrape the eagle off the front. I don't know, didn't expect to have to put a knife to my nearly 80$ model. Chaos Marines just don't get any damn respect.

You can always defile the imperial markings a la traitors during the heresy (and die to loyalist bolter fire for heresy)

If it represents an imperial Land Raider either looted by Chaos or with a crew who went traitor, then makes perfect sense that it would still have the imperial icons on it. The question is whether it would stay that way for long...

As Teban says, the simplest approach is to deface the imperial icons, either by painting or gouging chaos icons over top.

If you can find the Chaos vehicle sprue, it has a rectangular chaos icon designed to fit over the front hatch eagle. Or easy enough to create a plasticard equivalent - this is Chaos, so it doesn't have to be neat and tidy.

If you're rich, you could buy the Forgeworld Chaos replacement tracks http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-US/Chaos-Land-Raider-Tracks

They can be shaved off. Dark works also makes some great chaos replacement tracks and considering his prices are in Canadian $ which sucks right now, you get like 30% off. I used them on a land raider I did recently. The link to his site is in my link.

A little bit of mud on the tracks is the easiest way to sort those out. It's as easy as basing the rest of your other models and a nice way to link the colour schemes of your infantry and vehicles.

Nail a loyalist Marine or Guardsman to the front Eagle so he's crucified almost with the hands stretched out to the two wings?

I second the notion to just deface them.

"Yes"

Just stick a chaos icon over the top of it.

Here's a suggestion for the tracks. Probably the best 3rd Party Chaos Land Raider Compatible tracks there are in my opinion.

Here's what they look like finished (Note: This land raider is not my work, was found via google!)

I think the worst thing about the tracks is that even the ones that don't have a double headed eagle look like a highly abstract/stylised double headed eagle.

Forgeworld used to make land raider tracks conversion kit but now sadly oop.

The cheapest option, as suggested is to file/scrape down any of the most obvious eagles (and optionally go over them with chaos insignia).

I guess you could create casts of the non-eagle tracks and create spares to retrack your land raider without eagles.

I once created an eagle-free set of Land Raider tracks, by cutting and filing to remove all the eagle links then replacing them with spare links from a second set of tracks.

A ridiculous amount of work though, and very few people even noticed the difference on the finished model :(
