Yeah lol, well no worries, let's see if we can get some good discussion going.
A fight in the slums of Ayzrheim perhaps? Or the ruins of the Lantic Empire? THIS would be an epic table to play on with almost any game system - and that would make it awesome for AoS too

Big fan of electrickery in stuff. I also like the way the table looks excavated rather than built up.

Ha! The joke's on you. I'm not drinking anything!
I don't have the time at the moment to link the pictures, but Warhammer World has some awesome AoS tables, and if you do a Google search for Hirst Arts, you'll find some amazing tablescapes. There's another one out there like Hirst Arts that I can't remember the name of right now that has similarly impressive tables built from it (found it! Dwarven Forge). We're talking multiple levels, labyrinths, and castles in a single table. Also, World Works Games does some amazing stuff with papercraft that is truly amazing. Let's see if I can remember some others. Dystopian Wars (though not to scale) had some jaw dropping tables built for it.

That would be absolutely fantastic for AOS! With the 360 degree line of sight this sort of a table would be a real game changer. Too bad I don't have the space, time or skill to make anything close to all these!

Gotta agree with TheCustomLime on his comment. Inspiring.
I always tell myself, one day I'll build myself a great table. But then the big pile of plastic models beckons and I paint a few more of those instead.
I'm not an AoS player (ex WHFB & 40K now: KOW / Deadzone / Bolt Action / M.Edge) but I can see the advantage AoS has in being able to play on tables like this.
I guess I'll have to build myself one for Frostgrave one day.

I have a realm of battle board and one of the GW painting kits for it. I plan on buying a couple of these and making a ruined town board.
But as you mentioned there are always more projects getting in the way. Curse my plastic addictions.

Funny you mention those ruins.
Think the top 4 or 5 pics on this blog page had the set I did;
http://gimgamgoo.com/bolt-action-terrain/
I thought it was a pain to put together but it came out pretty nice in the end. I cut up a resin floor I got from somewhere for the inside bases as well.
I keep thinking of getting GWs Goblin Town scenery for a board but I don't fancy £35 for what looks like 2 sprues. Can anyone recommend it?
There's been loads of nice wizard towers and things I'd like from GW but they discontinue them before I save enough (and convince the wife). :-(
Sorry gone a bit OT...

This is truely a great example of what can make AoS awesome. Terrains like this really drive you to come up with efficient formations. I'm currently building a desert table to go with my friend's and my Seraphons and Tomb King armies and we're experimenting with features that would deny access to large base models such as rock forests and tight trenches. It can efficiently represent areas inaccessible to monsters and allow small units to find natural cover in it.
Also check out this incredible table I've came by in a French battle report: https://youtu.be/Jrhjvj7xATU?t=67

This really shows AoS in it's best light! Could be really fun to play on those sorts of dense, three dimensional battlefields with armies from the Old World!
That's probably the first thing that's made me think "Hmmm. Maybe it would be worth trying out with my old models some day."
Nice work!

The same minis and terrain could do double duty for Mordheim or Frostgrave/similar.

Yes! It's a shame we don't have lots of great AoS specific tables just yet, this thread is really more a celebration of its closest games (Warmachine, Frostgrave etc) but it certainly gets the mind thinking off cool modelling projects. When the Skaven themed tables start cropping up things will really start heating up!

Great link, Manchu! And yes, you could get Mordheim and Frostgrave too and have 3 games to play with. Throw in D&D and things like Warhammer Quest too and you're made for life

I got a bunch of Mantic's 20th Century Brick modular terrain as part of Miniature Market's RIP sale. I like the modularity of it all, but the cube-ness of the whole thing works better for scifi. Contemporary brick structures are basically just rectangles. Still, I would welcome a fantasy-style stonework set - but Mantic doesn't have a skirmish fantasy game, so...

What size are the boards in AoS usually? You can play Saga on a pretty small gaming area, is the same true for AoS? Then I could potentially use my D'n'D battlemats and tiles for a dungeo n game. Not as cool as having a proper 3D dungeon of course, but still pretty fun.
I think fighting in a ruined city a la Mordheim would be the most atmospheric and fun though. Or a battle with street levels and sewer levels, perhaps linked by big craters and holes and so on.

6' x 4' -- which of course makes it tough to really cover it with terrain. My friend Hubcommish just nabbed some cool volcano terrain that covers a lot of surface area. They need a bit of work out of the box but are great for the Fire Realm. I will ask him for details and report back. And of course GW has done great with releasing terrain for AoS. EDIT: they were made by Monday Knight Productions
