Subject: Painting Model Size Preference?

I've been doing the unofficial painting challenges here on Dakka recently, and finished a Warboss last month and am doing a kannon this month. I'm realizing that I really like painting minis that are the standard troop size, and really don't have any interest in painting larger things (kannons, vehicles, etc). It takes me 4-6 hours for a grot and 6-10 hours for a standard boy model and this is about the limit of my interest in a given figure. Anything bigger and I end up really focused at the onset and speeding through it (with sloppy results) at the end.
I'm just curious, are there people who only like doing the bigger stuff like vehicles who find standard troop-size stuff tedious?
Also, how do you paint large models and not feel daunted or burned-out?
I'm not interested in getting speed-painting advice, there's plenty of that on this site already, mostly I'm just hoping to spark a discussion on the spectrum of what scale people really do or don't enjoy painting and why.

I much prefer larger models at the moment, but I've got an airbrush so it is probably just the efficiency of it

I prefer larger models because they are much faster and easier to paint. For example, it took me 6 days total to paint 5 sternguard vets but only 5 hours for my Contemptor Dreadnought. They also look sweet and there is a lot of room for customisation. Standard marines can have grenades, knives, pouches, etc, and should have all of that but even putting one or two things makes it look cluttered. A Rhino on the other hand can have the spiked prow, tow cables, and other bits and look great.

I too find anything larger than a Dread pretty daunting, and more than that, boring. Infantry I love, particularly slightly larger/bulkier ones like Ork Nobz and Terminators and such as there's more canvas to do cool stuff, but I'm not a fan of tanks or aircraft at all (odd, since I was doing model planes long before I started gaming! ). I do intend to look into getting more proficient with an airbrush over the summer, maybe that will change things, but contrary to most I find airbrushes are actually such a faff to get set up and using, so I've never really bothered.

Infantry sized figures all the way. To paint bigger stuff by brush, to the standard I deem acceptable would take longer than I'm currently able, let alone willing, to invest in something.

Hmm tbh I really like painting my Skaven warmachines, especially the Doomwheel (DOoooooooooooooooooooooOOOOOM!) Lots of different areas, you can do each one differently and they look great when done!
I do get a bit bored with troops because it tends to be same old same old one after another. Which again is why I prefer Skaven, cuz even their troops are pretty individualized which keeps it fresh. Except Plague Monks, really don't like painting that sculpt.
I don't really have a size preference overall - I paint a lot of general RPG stuff too. I think it's more about the individual model and its details. If I like it, I'm much more inclined to painting it and enjoying it, if I don't, well it might sit for a while! which is why I have something like 80 plague monks sitting in a box waiting for paint.
