Well, I have been thinking about getting into MERCS for a while now but couldn't justify getting into a new game without selling models I don't use.

Well, that day has arrived! Sold some stuff in the Swap Shop and got enough to preorder the new rulebook and bought House 4 and Kemvar. Hoping I can sell more in the Swap Shop because I have definitely been bitten by the MERCS bug. Been reading every bit of fluff I can get my hands on, and I like it. Downloaded the quick start rules and the pre 2.0 update. I like what I am seeing, and can't wait for 2.0 to come out.

My only concern starting up MERCS had been finding opponents, but, even that has been taken care of. I found out the guy running the Malifaux league I am in plays, and I got two buddies that will be starting it up with me too. Hopefully once the next edition comes out and we start playing at our store we can get more people interested.

I myself have been bitten by the mercs bug. I bought two kickstarter sets recently, and every metal mini I could get my hands on within the past week. I have been looking for the gcc and eic starters but am not having any luck....

If you are ever in central wisconsin send me a pm. You could always get some games in with my group.

I have the rules, but never really played.

I am eager to see some batreps.

The GCC and EIC metal starters were only available at Gen Con last year, so it will be tough finding them. I picked them up and will say the PVC versions from the KS are very close quality wise.

Right now, FRP has the House 4 metal starter for 32.50 and CCC for 38.99 as well as some metals for $6; just check the overstock area. Also, Mercs Conflict for $12.50 if you need the dice for the 2.0 campaign mode.

It's funny, I have and have painted every single metal miniature released, but I've yet to play the TT game as well.

The book for 2.0 is soon to go retail. Infact if you go on their KS for Recon, its in a fairly rescent update you can buy the 2.0 book before it hits retail.

Came to I think 67$ shipped in the US. And its 450+ pages I believe

Also the 2.0 stat cards are able to be purchased at their store aswell for 5$ for a faction (60$) for all factions

So we played 2 games. First was really a learning just kill em game

Dragged on to maybe 9 turns before we called it. Was last man standing, USSR won by a few guys to the CCC

Second game we tried the one mission in the book. Set up terrain to match as close as possible.

Objective was get into the room, spend 2 turns downloading the virus, and get the rest of the guys off the board. Both of us had to do this

It was only a 5 turn game, so you really want a fast team member to get to the console as only 1 person can download it.

It is a lot faster of a game and more brutal then before since its easier to hit people and facing matters vs shooting now.

Even in cover, his Behemoth unloaded on my medic killing him outright in one turn.

I highly recommend it. While the minis are not as nice as Infinity, the games are much shorter and more fast paced, taking maybe 45 min or so to play once you know how

Great! I I'm going to be getting a CCC starter and the updated cards my Kemvar and House 4. Is there any word on a mini or condensed rulebook after the first print run of the hardcover with all the fluff and campaign stuff?

I'm interested in this game also. Just ordered the 2.0 rulebook and am excited to delve into it. It's getting really good reviews.

My question is how do the factions play? I couldn't really find any articles on them (understandable for an obscure game). However, I did find some forum posts on the official site that gave little tidbits on a few factions. I may post there, but figured I'd check good ol' Dakka first!

I'm interested in GCC, Sefadu, and Texico. Are there any experienced players out there who are familiar w/ how those 3 factions play?

Ive only played CCC and Russia.

The GCC are brand new since 2.0 so dunno if there will be many thoughts on how they play. I did buy the starter though so at some point I wanna try them.

Are the MERCS Recon plastics out on the market already?

Upon closer inspection, those are the plastics. I wonder if I's be able to order them through the FLGS. Won't have any money until November, so the waiting period works out about right...

Are the faction boxes the same as the Recon expansion boxes from the kickstarter?
