Greetings!

As I continue to theory craft my Imperial Fists army, I have been wondering when I should consider any of the superheavies? Since most people like to play for the fluff, how often do people field them?

Obvious answer: at whatever points value the 25% rule allows it.

Mainly, though, it depends on the Lord of War in question. A LoW that doesn't need support (say, a Knight, Typhon, or Cerberus) would be fine at 2000pts. A Primarch, however, is not much of a good idea at 2000pts, because you have to dedicate so much of your remaining points to him in the form of a bodyguard and transport system. 2500pts is when just about anything can work without sucking too many points away from the rest of your army.

"You listen to me. While I will admit to a certain cynicism, the fact is that I am a naysayer and hatchetman in the fight against violence. I pride myself in taking a punch and I'll gladly take another because I choose to live my life in the company of Gandhi and King. My concerns are global. I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method... is love. I love you Sheriff Truman." - Twin Peaks

Well to set some point values then; 2000, 2500 and 3000.

I am thinking about getting a falchion tank destroyer and Rogal Dorn (IF FORGEWORLD EVER RELEASES HIM).

I'm also asking for lists I might face against. I don't want to show up against someone who has a something like a fellblade and I have no way to fight it.

At 2000 expect a Typhon.

At 2500 expect a Primarch.

At 3000 expect a Warhound.

People play HH predominantly for fluff, but everyone, everywhere, always loves the big guns.

2k is the minimum you can even bring a LoW so there is a good start. We don't over cheese our armies in my groups so much of it depends on your meta and what they are comfortable with. If one of my groups wants to bring s LoW we will tell our opponent ahead of time. 30k isn't supposed to be an arms race. I have been playing since FW brought out the first rule book and have brought a primarch exactly twice and a superheavy vehicle maybe three or four times(which isn't very efficient since I have three of them).

If someone brought a warhound at 3k without warning I would pick up my stuff and leave, Those are things for big games, 3k in 30k isn't a large game.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!
