How would this even look like? A dreadnought larger than the Leviathan.

Humor me, what would its stats be? What weapons?

5 dreads combine together power ranger style to form a super dread! You get a dread with 5 different parts (torso, legs, arms) which are targeted separated.

Kidding aside, wouldn't that just be a titan but with a single semi-dead marine pilot?

I suppose you're right... what's the RoW that allows Dreads as troops?

Fury of the Ancients: Contemptors and Boxnoughts become compulsory troops, however must have forge lord and primus medicae, you cannot seize the initiative, no allies and no fortifications, and dreadnoughts give up an additional VP when killed.

It seems like it would be a blast to run but you'd definitely be giving up VP's a lot.

I'll just stick to my outrageous ideas. I'm trying to make an IW 4HS slot list with 12 Leviathans.

don't forget, you can't take pods if you put them in Talons, so you probably want to have mostly Deathblossom patterns (double storm cannons.) The other option is just to run them forward as fast as possible, which can also work.

Would be such a fun list to play! But knowing my bad luck I bet I will end up with an army of immobilised dreads, with a forgelord frantically whacking dreads with his poweraxe.

That heavy support alone sounds very expensive.

The army would probably be a Warsmith (since he is required for the 4 HS RoW, and can heal the dreads) 3x10 Marine Squads in Rhinos, and then 12 Leviathan dreads. Sounds like a party

Yeah it's the Warsmitgh Praetor, a couple of 10 man Tac squads with Rhinos camping objectives, and a lot of Dreads. I'd say every Talon would have 2 Dual Storm Cannon and one Melta/Claw

Isn't a LoW dreadnought just a Knight? Give or take the lack of a space marine pilot anyway…

I was thinking about that. But I was also thinking that none have Dreadnought box feel.

A "dreadnought" bigger than a leviathan seems wrong. A specific, venerable leviathan is a possibility - a former legion master's ironform is not unreasonable as a lord of war.

I would give him venerable, master of the legion, 'first lord of the' [equivalent to 'sire of the'], and state in his rules that he counts as a primarch for victory points, the primarchs chosen rite, etc etc.

Essentially a leviathan chassis eqivalent of Rylanor and Telemechrus.
