I do the Skyhammer Missiles, can hurt almost everything and cheap.

Yeah, because of things like Strafing Run, I prefer the versatility of the Typhoon. It must be said, though, that armies at our club tend not to be terribly flyer-heavy.

I think all three has their own uses, skyhammer missile may be ok to fill in the department of S7 high RoF firepower, which is a main deficiency in SM army. While I think if you know you are facing Flying Tyrants, the Typhoon missile Launchers are way better, as it will at least force the Tyrant to use jink save thus significantly reduce its firepower as well as survivability. Lascannon is what I think better against Heldrake, for that one shot possibility, or at least to increase the chances in causing weapon destroyed or lock of velocity result which will save your Tactical squads holding objective for one more turn.

This has been done to death since the 6th ed dex and the general consesus is as Neophyte2012 said: Typhoons for fighting FMC's, lascannon vs AV13+, skyhammer against pretty much anything else.

Skyhammers were better than everything else against 95% of stuff before and they only got better with the price cut in the 7.5 dex. The mid str AP4 higher RoF also means you're not wasting the assault cannon on whatever you shoot at either (though the assault cannon is basically the best bit of the platform anyway, so it's never a waste).

Unless you are planning on doing nothing but dogfighting tactics, upgrade from the HBs. Even then it’s probably worth the points. (The tactic is to swing behind other flyers and use the 360 chin gun to hit rear armor, thus the fixed guns won’t have arc on anything)

All the other guns have targets they excel at. The question is how often do you face those, and do you think it’s worth the points?
5 points to swap twin-linked for +2S (and 24” of range you will never need) is an easy price to pay. Really good vs. light armor, which is most flyers.
15 points for the TLLC is a point cost you need to care about. Good vs. anything on the table, or above it. But only one shot. Do you feel lucky? Most people like weight of fire to take down vehicles.
20 points is a lot for the TML. It’s a great weapon system, and AP3 is very nice vs. FMCs. How many flying bugs do you expect to see? Is it worth the investment?

I’ve flown skyhammers on my talon every time. While there have been a few occasions where I wished I had the other guns, I’ve been reasonably happy with them throughout. Especially at their price.

I guess that depends a lot on what you expect to face. For me, in a more casual meta, I don’t see scatbike spam or FMCircuses. So I can’t justify the 15 points for what amounts to a lateral “upgrade” in firepower. For me, the extra shot is far more important then the S/AP. That 15 points can get me a plasma gun somewhere if I need to roast monsters, and I get to keep the perfectly serviceable skyhammers.

YMMV. I’m very stingy with upgrades.

The typhoon does so much more damage to MCs in general, it's hard to say. Honestly, I think the Wulfen swing my vote to the typhoon. The bump from S7 to S8 is huge against them.

I run them in a Raptor Wing. Gaining Shred against Armor Save targets and Tank Hunter against AV is great. I stick with Skyhammer missile launchers. Honestly, I don't even think modeling them different is necessary. Does it have a pair of missile launchers? Then it could easily count as both. Just make sure you tell your opponent.

I also run Raptorwing, so the loadout should compliment the Speeders. If I have points to upgrade the speeder to a Typhoon, I'll upgrade the Talons with more typhoons and have what I call a "Typhoon Wing".

If I stick with two Heavy Bolters or Heavy Flamers, the Talons are better paired with the Skyhammers, in my aptly named "Dakka Wing" Formation.

I take a slightly different approach with my Raptor Wing.
Since the speeder has to be withing 18" to nominate the target, you are generally going to have to be kind of close to something. So odds are that little speeder will be doing a lot of Jinking.
So I generally keep 'em cheap, just the 2 Heavy Bolters, and call it good. Nothing says that the speeder has to shoot the Priority target, just that he has to nominate it. So have him pick a target, Stormtalons light it up, and the Jinking Speeder tosses some pot shots at something else.

The Shred/Tank-Hunter equivalent rules really allow you to do magic with the much cheaper Skyhammers and skip the extra cost of the TML, imo.
