Hi there, 30k players !
As I may soon become one of you (Emperor's Children) thanks to a big Betrayal at Calth deal (40% off on a new box), as was wondering how many people came to 30k thanks to this box.
So, did you began you Legion with a BaC box ?

I'm gonna guess a solid percentage did, though you should be ready to expand into forge world before too long Afterall, there's only so much fun to be had with MK IV armour and contemptors

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

No. I started with a Spartan, some converted plastic terminators and a resin contemptor in 2014.

Thought for the day: Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

I had made the decision to start a 30K army before the box was announced, but it was actually my first purchase for it. It was just lucky timing on my part.

I'm pretty sure I'm quite likely the first 30k player out of wisconsin. I jumped on the day it was first released.

Technically I had some MK IVs in my 40k Space Marine army before BaC that I repainted for use in my Raven Guard Legion army.

Pre-ordered the first book the day it went live and bought up as many Mk IV marines as I could from Gamesday 2013.

Then I pretty much never played 30k because no one else did but that's changing rapidly.

B@C was absolutely the best thing to happen to 30k.

I didn’t start seriously thinking about 30k until BaC. Now that I have it, I’m re-purposing some older stuff that fits the timeline.

I had bought 30k models off of FW before for 40k, however before Clath I had never really been thinking about playing it. The guys I knew that did seemed to be part of some exclusive cult and while I loved the models, making an exclusive 30k army seemed pointless as I wouldn't get a game. I was sceptical about Calth at first but getting has really gotten me excited not just about 30k, but the hobby in general.

My WB force was well underway before Calth was released. I picked up Calth, but to be honest the only thing I have assembled and painted out of it so far is the Dark Apostle HQ model.

I'm gonna use the marines to make Vets (and maybe Seekers).

I voted yes. My heart's always been in the Heresy as I got my '40k' start with Space Marine 1st edition which was set during the Heresy, I had recently been *slowly* building up a stockpile of appropriate MkV & VI bitz from the plastics with the ultimate intention of starting a 30k army, but it was B@C that allowed me to actually make the jump.

same story here, I had thought about it before but the price tag put me off, that was until BaC was released as it makes the basic stuff you absolutely need so much cheaper, I'm happy to pay for expensive FW tanks (sicarans/superheavies), characters and things but not infantry, the resin infantry is just too expensive for me.

I thought 30k was a cool thing before Calth but that's what pushed me into it.
