Any thoughts? I think it's pretty cool that you can get two Knights and a building for £120, and get this new game as a bonus (Some GW prices are starting to look shockingly reasonable!). I'm really tempted, even though I haven't finished painting my current Knight! I guess we'll know more when it's released and someone has played it, though.

I think a good addition would have been an extra renegade sprue with some different faceplates and weapons. I doubt that would have been too much hard work!

I'm going halfs with my buddy. I wasn't going to spend 70 odd quid on a Knight but then this came along and I can warrant buying one now. It's certainly a good offer.

Haven't got use for the scenery so we are going to sell that and it'll make the Knights even cheaper.

No pity, no remorse, no shoes

I never wanted a knight, don't like their design, but now I want 2. Especially as one retailor is offering 20% off which equates to £96 (and a Warden is 85)

£120 is crazy as a price point, the profit margin on big kits is huge they could out released it for under £100 and made money.

More GW slight of hand making you think you got a deal because it's cheaper than their other insane prices.

It is a deal because its cheaper than their other prices. Just because the price is high doesn't mean its not a deal. If a car normally costs you £5000 wth £200 per month insurance, and you are offered the car for £3500 with £75 insurance, is it not a deal? What if the car was a 2002 Ford Ka with 2 million miles on the clock and needs a chassis replacement? Its still a deal, even if ludicrously priced.

Just thinking, options that could come from this;

Buy IK:R, keep one and sell other on ebay for £60. Thus you and another person get a Knight Warden for -15%. Or split with a friend as people do with the other box sets like DV.

Agree with Deadshot exactly, didn't want a Knight, wasn't overly keen on them, but now I'm getting two.
I think Games Workshop are starting to move in the right direction with regards to prices and deals.
Hobojebus is also correct, the starting price point is high, but GW have managed to sell them for more and then people like me who are suckers for bargains buy them when they put them into deals.

It only contains one Knight Warden(read: 'the good knight' kit that's $157). The other Knight in the box is the 'standard' Imperial Knight kit(the $140 kit), which includes no carapace weapons and can only build the Paladin or Errant.

I mean sure, someone could get an Imperial Knight for cheaper--but then it becomes a case of who cares?

And the Knight Warden has 2 carapace weapons included, so you can put the second on the other knight.

Which still doesn't make it two Knight Warden kits now does it?

Well, yes, it does, as you have 2 Knights with carapace guns.

Well, yes, it does, as you have 2 Knights with carapace guns.

Unfortunately that isn't just what the Knight Warden kit contains. It contains a whole sprue of stuff JUST in that box.

The Thunderstrike Gauntlet, the Meltagun, the Avenger Gatling Cannon, and the two(technically three) carapace mounts are all just on that sprue.

The point which you seemed to have missed is that unless you like lying in eBay listings or you are not planning on using the AGC, Gauntlet, Meltagun, or the carapace mounts?
There's no way that someone is getting "two Knight Wardens" out of the box barring a fluke packaging of two Warden sprues.

Indeed - provided you equip one with the (less effective) Icarus autocannons.

I'm not entirely sure if there are enough bits to make two different rocket pods - I've a sneaking suspicion that the rocket pod parts are common aside from the front plate (much like the stormtalon's skyhammer/typhoon launchers).

Rocket pod parts are indeed the same barring the front plate. Nobody really would mind though since the only difference between the two are the size of the rockets.

You'll have:
Two weapons that can both be built as battle cannons or thermal cannons (they share parts)
One gattling cannon
Two chainsword
One gauntlet
Two carapace mount heavy stubbers
One carapace mount meltagun
One rocket pod (can be assembled in two ways)
One AA gun

Where did you get this list? Was it on the GW site?
Thanks!

It's not on the GW site or anything like that.

He just listed out what the Knight Warden and Imperial Knight kits contain.

The Knight Warden kit contains everything the Imperial Knight kit contains plus the sprue containing the Avenger Gatling Cannon, the Thunderstrike Gauntlet, the rocket pod, the Icarus Autocannons, and the carapace mount Meltagun.

So what the hell does the regular kit contain? A chainsword and battle cannon and that's it?

Why did anyone buy this kit when it had 0 of the weapon options.

Eh, there are ways around. Mine for example would have the Reaper, Battle Cannon or Gatling, with an AA gun on top for that important AA firepower and LoS benefits. the missiles seem lackluster to me, strength 5 AP 4 I hear? Nah B, I'mma stick with my autocannons thanks. Therefore I can offer "Imperial Knight NOS with choice of Battle Cannon, Thermal Cannon, Powerfist, Chainsword and Carapace missiles"

Why did people buy it when it had 0 of the weapon options?

BECAUSE NONE OF THOSE WEAPON OPTIONS EXISTED WHEN THE KIT FIRST CAME OUT.

Additionally there's two different missiles.
Ironstorm (S5 AP4 Heavy 1, Large Blast, Barrage) or Stormspear (S8 AP3 Heavy 3)

In both cases, they're extremely long range weapons.
