I had no idea this was being made, and would normally go on a rant about leaving the classics alone at this point... but that looks like it'll be really, really awesome! Count me in for this one!

Well, the original was just a remake of the Seven Samurai, so can’t really complain when it gets remade. Heck A Bug’s Life was a remake!

I won’t pay theater prices to see this, but will defiantly put it in my netflix queue. Does look good.

Is called "Suicide Squad" or, potentially, "Rogue 1"

A remake of a remake . . . that I'll still watch because I loved both movies this one comes from. If only McQueen could do a cameo.

There's also a Star Wars: Clone Wars cartoon episode that nailed it pretty well.

Looks horrible. It seems they've changed some major things just for the sake of diversity/political correctness and special effects opportunity.

I'm not against remakes. The recent remake of True Grit was pretty darned good, actually followed the book closer than the John Wayne version. I like them both.

This? Based on the trailer looks like typical Summer Movie garbage.

In all seriousness though. Aside from the music... the thing with "The Magnificent Seven" that was iconic wasn't that the characters. - I couldn't name a single one, for example, but it was instead the [i]actors[/].

Since it's a remake, you're, by definition, not going to have the same actors, instead, you should instead go for the best actors you possibly can to carry the film, irrespective of colour, race or sex.

Was that John Malkovich as the villain?

Does the Director of "The Equalizer" actually carry any weight in film circles? Really?

Now now. It said "Training Day" and "The Equalizer". Though no, no it does not. I imagine it was mentioned because both earlier films are also Antoine Fuqua and Denzel Washington flicks.

I rather like the movie take on The Equalizer, starring Denzel.

And I love me a Spaghetti Western so...I'm in!

The theme from the original Magnificent 7 is a fairly kick ass tune. In my opinion, one of the best for a western along with The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, as well as The Dollar movies.

I am not sure...kind of taking a "wait and see" approach.

Denzel has not done much that I have enjoyed since Man on Fire.

Chris Pratt is a hot commodity..and I like his acting style/roles.

Just...not sure what to think just yet.

I destroy my enemies when I make them my friends.

Hollyweird, to be expected, still hasn't come up with any new material, and has to "remake" or "reimagine" classics to make a buck.

Nothing against making money, but that kind of stuff tends to not pull me into theatres.

The original The Magnificent Seven may be a remake of Seven Samurai, but both films are still timeless classic of cinema. It's not the first classic western film that was a take on a Kurosawa film.

The problem is that Hollyweird has a tendency to butcher classic films because of a lack of originality. But on the plus side, the classics will be remembered while these "remakes" and "reimaginings" will be long forgotten.

And that's all I'm going to say on the matter, since I'm not going to take the bait.
