Id like to buy either one of these, not both.

Is using a flyer for anti-tank a good idea? A Primaris dedicated for anti-tank costs between 210 to 225 depending on options.

A Xiphon runs about 205 nicely equipped.

Does anyone feel strongly for either of these in particular or does simply come down to which model I like best?

I like both, but I went for the Xyphon, it's proven very reliable for anti air and anti tank/speeder/(Jet)Bike duty because of its special rules. It's cheaper and has proven more durable as well.

For pure Anti Armor/Air Superiority, the Xiphon is better because of the multi warhead missile launcher thing,

I bought the lightning because it is more flexible and can be tailored to any role you need great or to a few roles well

both get 3+ jink and both have at-least 1 TL LC
the lightning can get tank hunter though and can increase its armor slightly, but all of this is dependent on points

Do you ever go into a fight thinking "there's no point giving it my best, I'll get another chance later?"

We only ever get one shot marlin. Life is one shot

The lightning can get Armourbane missiles - which is a very nice answer to massed AV14 with armoured ceramite and flare shields.

Yeah, I think your meta plays into your choice. If you're staring down a lot of Spartans that you need to crack, then the Lightning is the pick.

I think the lightning is more flexible for sure. Thanks to it's kraken missiles it can erase vehicles most other units likely struggle with.

Hmmm Flexible AND an answer to Flair Shielded AV14.... as much as I like the Xiphon model, the Primaris is it.
