I think it just needs a ring over the centre boss which would hide the jagged overlaps on the blades.

Also try to smooth the outer circumference to a more rounded shape.

did you mean the outer rim of the blades to be trimmed ?

I think you could use a bit more angle so the don't look like the are "closed".

And also let them continue into the center properly would greatly improve the look.

your right about them blades looking a bit closed...i actually glued all together...so i either let it stay that way or rip it all apart...? i am a bit unsure...my wife recognized it so thats my controlgroup right there as she is not into wargaming and all related stuff...

So this propeller's gonna be a steering one?
May I recommend glueing it to be flat against the zeppelin's rear, and have a rudder-rype thing?
BTW I found some old bionicle bitz in my old lego box while looking for some bitz that look exactly the same as your propeller, only with "open" blades.
I would tell you the name, but I can't remember. It'll come to me...

bionicles are really cool...shame i searched our suply and never came up with anything i really wanted to use... i wanted to do the tesla gun from lego bionicle...but the parts didnt play the part good enough^^

and your idea is yet again a thing i will try out as the ruder thing is something i also thought how to do and together this would add up...

gosh this will take so much time...

I'm fairly crap at painting- at times I focus and can do really well, but I'm an impatient little bugger and I rush too much for my liking. I am pleased with:
My shadowsword
My fortress of arrogance
My GD '09 model
My commissar yarrick
My 8th company captain

Not pleased with:
Shrike (need to repaint- one of my first models)

I am a good converter for my age. I have a good imagination and sense of realism (sort of) and dynamicism (is that a word?)
Because I see models with swords raised to hit someone and shooting somewhere else, or shooting and looking the other way.
I either go shooting or hitting- rarely both, sometimes neither. My favorite dynamic models:
my old tactical marine sergeant, can't find him.
My company champion
basically all my command squad
my sanguinary guards

and now I'm off to bed.

and your right, either hit or shoot... not even super humans should be able to do both at once in tow seperate directions and able to be that precise...

and nope dont think that would be found in a dictionary^^

good to see more pics showing the ideas you have for the steerage prop. One set with a rudder may be the way to go though.

i am now hard thinking about ripping it apart again...the closed look looks not working. least i want is a non functioning look...the admechs of the queeny are very capabal so that has to show!...i have an idea that involves toiletpaper rolls, hopefully i have time to do that today...

so here is a small update on the fan of the propeller...

i hope it doesnt look closed again...this would mean i didn´t understood the hint...

the parts where made from cardboard rings i cut up in eights of a circle and then folded. 20 of them formed the blades now. they are totally upright but will be bended in a more streamline manner so when glued together. i havent done that yet as i was unsure of the look...

so please do comment and thus help me^^

Your prop looks very realistic, a nice size for steering your behemoth , the open pplan blades work better than the closed as well , nice attention to detail as usual , good update Vik

ummm, what do don´t get? i thought since the blades are more upright and thus the "wind" is more in charge then it is the right look? do you mean actual looking propellers more as in an old WWI airplane, with those two or fourblades rotors? should it look rather like that...?
