Hmmmmm. What if. When the imperials went through the web way they ended up at the scene of the next book, with some of their Force harboring slaanesh worshippers undercover that end up corrupting the avatar, explaining it's rather corrupted features?

Nothing points to it.
But I point to these details, and forgive if already pointed out...
On his left hip, and his knee pads, his belt piece are all faces like Harlequin's masques.
He also has a hell of alot of stones, many tied to him, like around his back things. They are tied all ovr him, ot like trophies but like he needs them.

I really think the Soulstones are prevalent on these models because of their connection with Ynnead.

Oh, you mean like how they "got rid" of Slaanesh in AoS by putting its icon on Archaon's shield? Or how it looks like the intro for the Elf factions is going to involve them trying to prevent Slaanesh's followers from finding it?

I suppose, I'm not too fond of the posing for any of the three, but they are sculpted well. I wonder what the rules might be and if they're going to be as nice as the Imperial Triumvirate.

Yes I do. If someone you loved got abducted but you still had a picture of them would you say to me "Oh, you mean like how I "lost" that person by taking this picture with them and putting it on my dresser?" Come on...

So where exactly is Slaanesh, then?

Being held by Malerion and Tyrion in either the Realm of Shadows or Realm of Light, unable to exercise its power?

We've basically had that since the first months of AoS. We further got bits and bobs about the Shadowkin(Malerion's folk in the Realm of Shadows) engaged in a war within the mists of the Realm of Shadow against the followers of Slaanesh trying to find their deity.

A large portion of the warhammer community think GW is doing away with Slaanesh, because Slaanesh hasn't had any new models since 2012.

This is despite the fact that a slaanesh chaos lord was a prevalent antagonist, in either god beasts or battle for the all points (forgot which one) and there is allot of new Slaanesh artwork in age of sigmar showing them fighting stormcasts and lizardmen.

Now with this prophetised destroyer of slaanesh showing up in 40k that large portion of the community are doomsayering again.

Except I don't think Ynnead is the sort of god that would keep Slaanesh "held" somewhere. I think that either 1 of 2 things are going to happen moving forward:

1. Ynnead is going to kill or cripple Slaanesh

2. The clock will be at 1-minute-to-midnight with Ynnead about to eat Slaanesh...

As I said before. I think this is how you bring Slaneesh further into the story. With the other gods motivation for large scale battles is easy. Khorne loves fighting, nurgle wants to spread corruption and Tzeentch has his plans. Slaanesh requires humanity to exist to get her kicks. So why undertake any big campaigns?
By putting her existence under threat in 40k and seeking revenge on those who captured/ abandoned her in Aos, you have a much better reason for involving her.
There was a perfect opportunity to do away with her at the beginning of AOS, but instead you have seen Slaanesh featured in some form in almost every bottletome.
I fully expect a major cross system unveiling this year or next, as we have seen with Tzeentch in the last few months.

It's the only plausible explantion how "I don't like it" can be construed as pathetic hate comments.
