Playing The Long war mod for Xcom Enemy within still, and as of now it seems I have a somewhat solid grip on the situation. Laser weaponry all but unlocked and soon Il begin working towards Xeno biology, after that improved body armour and other fun things

I think I got the last ship upgrade on starbound, just looking around for a glitch village to finish my last quest, not sure if that will unlock more upgrades, more quests, or nothing at present.

As it stands now, aside from the one quest, I have to decide if its still fun exploring or not and if there's any cool buildings/hideouts/whatevers I wanna build before looking into another game.

Bit reluctant to build anything as the game will probably wipe at least one more time before official non-beta deployment, may have to back to Valkyria or Agarest.

Getting owned in 'xcom: enemy within'. I was about to have a successful run of a base assault in impossible ironman and then spotted 3 floaters and 6 chrysallids all at once. I killed them with a loss or two and then after finishing them off had to face down 3 more chrysallids which i killed probably 2 of. At that point my last guy was just poisoned and died from poisoning. I was enraged and unbelievably ****ed because all that time spent successfully getting my forces working and very elite was all for nothing because of one or two dumb moves and ridiculous enemy spams. I might even start using snipers with battle scanner for once (provided i get a sniper to lieutenant rank). Anyway that was a mission that would have kept about 4 countries from auto-leaving the council and i would have one left in the next month. I basically play a mission or two with mostly idiots as a very much B team. Opponents manages to light a car on fire, poison a couple of my guys and then force them to panic while behind the flaming car (it was a highway bridge mission so only cars as cover basically). So basically i lost 1-2 guys from that and 3-4 guys panicking per each of my turns. Gotta love xcom's BS panic sometimes. At most i got maybe one kill from that mission in possibly one of the worst missions i've had in a long, long time. Poison, flaming cars and panic equals a really, really bad time.

Anyway i'll have another go of it. Hopefully i can get one successful run of the game on impossible ironman again like i had last time and not get bored of it this time.

Finished AC Rogue. It was ok but featured one of the more dislikable protanganists the series has ever had.

Playing some Tropico 4 now...it's a lot like Tropico 3....but without as good music.

Just finished up playing xcom enemy within on impossible ironman again and keep getting owned. Same old crap to where i may explode from rage.

Some missions just don't work out and the mass panic from squadmates is just insane. For several times now i've had missions about to be finished and then get killed by the last guy or two. It's freaking obnoxious. An entire game of careful planning all undone by a mixture of bad luck and failed criticals. There's nothing worse than missing a flanked baddie or hitting somebody you're face to face with and doing only 2 damage. Ugh so much rage right now. This game also seriously needs to have a line of sight meter to tell you if moving somewhere will give you line of sight to some baddies or not. Seriously i can't tell you how many times i thought i had line of sight only for a dinky post to be in the way.

I've had that LoS thing happen, it does suck. Say, 50% chance to hit seems a bit..dicey... lets go around for a flank... and I can't see him now and will get executed..great!

Finished my last starbound mission, guess that's it for now. Maybe I'll make a barely-winnable dungeon on my starter planet and put good gear at the end, gotta survive the dungeon of DOOM if you want your loot!

One of the few games that has remained a steady interest for me on the 360 is Chivalry. It's way too fun. In fact I think I'll go play that right now while i lurk.

There's always "that guy" who does it. Like that guy that who can beat Battletoads in 30 minutes but it is not for us normal humans to do. It's certainly not worth getting upset over is what I'm saying.

No games are really worth getting upset over, but a lot can be rage-inducing nonetheless, and justifiably so. The fact that impossible ironman is made to be extremely difficult doesn't mean that you shouldn't be able to get angry with it, especially if you've managed to get so far.

There's also the fact that, as mentioned, bad luck can and will ruin plans, regardless of difficulty. Sometimes it's not just that the game's hard, it's that a string of bad luck with no connection whatsoever to the difficulty is what's defeating you. Bad luck plaguing a run of anything is bad enough, but spoiling an otherwise well-played hardest-difficulty attempt is fair rage-bait.

Actually i was about to manage it one time i merely got bored of it and started a new game. Turned out that was a mistake.

Don't bother with the hard missions like portent (french psychic girl) or even the board the train mission (gangplank i think it was). One just forces you to fight a ton of enemies and the other puts you on a ten turn timer to clear out a whole train of baddies and put transponders on 4 points as well as activate the train at the end.

I basically get carapace armor by month 2 and laser weapons with alien grenades in month 3 but it just gets too tough (even though i captured at least one floater, at least one sectoid, 2 mutons and at least one outsider). Oh and screw low ranks as they panic to anything esp. muton's ability to panic people that attack them. I lost some missions last game but it was salvageable somewhat till the end. I sent 5 rookies on an exalt mission and it was going well till a rocket hit me right in the face and on two of my guys. Didn't even think he had line of sight and he didn't even see my dudes.

Been player TOTW FO3 some more, I fin shed the main story-line. Super lackluster, it reminded me more of the story for some cookie-cutter FPS, than for an RPG. FO:NV's storyline was much better. And sneaking around metro tunnels killing mutants reminded me of the metro series, who's story was pretty awesome IMO, so no comparisons have done FO3 any justice in my eyes. I quite enjoy wandering the wastes though, although I liked FO:NVs deserts more (seeing a pattern here ). The bobble-heads are an odd choice, I personally like the implant system from NV better (limited number, and cost caps), but considering I'll be able to have those, the bobbleheads, and the training perk, it's unlikely that I won't be 8-10 in every stat by the end of the game.

I think I need to join an AA like society for mount and blade warband. I have now stocked up 850 hours in an incredibly short amount of time. I have 5 or 6 concurrent games in 5 or 6 mods. Let's see:

Brytenwalda...check - probably about 1/6 the way through on my 2nd go through.
Prophesy of pendor...check 3rd go through almost done, 2 more factions to go!
A clash of kings....check I control the north and Tyrosh, about to declare war on sisterton
the japanese one....check - 2 small clans to go
Láigle.....check - just started
AD1257....check fighting england as a scottish vassal- jesus it's hard
warsword...abandoned
native...abandoned

My fave mods are POP and AD1257...so far with Láigle looking to join them when it's more finished. A clash of kings is also quite good and the japanese one.
I have played about 2 other games for about 1/2 an hour each since I got this game. Jesus I need help.

Ok so i've got another run of xcom: enemy within going and i'm on month 2 with laser weapons (pretty much at the start of the month). Oddly enough it was the floaters i captured first this time. Interrogating floaters basically gives you basic armor research boost. I think i'll hold off on the base assault till about month 3 this time.

Currently i'm at the end of month 2 and just getting the Triad missions. Not sure if i should just skip his 2nd mission completely. It's really freaking tough. Not to mention there's a mission right after it so if your guys are in medbay or dead there's no chance to fix them up right away.

I've got around 3-4 floaters that i've captured and did so immediately. I also got an outsider pretty fast and a sectoid somewhere along the way (though he kept running away). Hopefully these research boosts help provided i last that long. I'll see if i can capture a muton really quickly to maybe use some of the plasma weapons as fast as i can. It's rather funny how you can actually have a similar level of tech as the aliens if you really work hard to keep up.

Ok so everything was going fine in impossible ironman with xcom: enemy within even with losing a support major in gangplank (which i lost due to turn issues but no big deal).

Problem right after the mission i had a base defense mission so my dudes were in medbay. Once again i couldn't equip all my guys fully because once again medbay and all that other crap. So basically i lose, xcom is automatically toast and a game that would otherwise have worked with carapace armor, laser weaponry, a couple alien grenades, a successful alien base raid (not sure if that triggers an upcoming xcom base defense), multiple satellites coming within the next month and multiple aliens to interrogate (including sectoid commander, muton, thin man and others having every interrogation possible up to that point) is basically lost in an instant due to one failed mission. Oh and facing two cyberdiscs, a sectoid commander, a mechtoid, mutons and chrysallids with only squaddies at best in carapace armor and some laser weapons is absolute bull at the end of month 3.

More TOTW, just found the station and went to new vegas. The "nine years later" was a nice touch, mean it's not completely immersion breaking. On the other hand, I'm so geared up I can just bee-line to vegas, so I have to stop myself from doing that. I'm ignoring the main quest for now and focusing on the mods I added, specifically new vegas bounties. And I'm living the nevada skies mod, especially the sandstorms, as they aren't just visual and audio, by have an effect on stats too (-7 Per, -2 Ag, and +70 sneak to anything in it). And rad-storms are downright terrifying. I really hope there is weather in FO4, or at least in the game Obsidian will hopefully make.

I also bought homeworld remastered on steam, so I'll be playing that when it downloads. And I'm currently trying to get my brother to get valkyaria chronicles because it's an awesome game, and currently only $5.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
And I also picked up recettear, because it was on sale (80% off of a bundle of three of that devs games).
