I love classic minis. I don't know why exactly, but there's something charming about older miniatures that I'm really fond of.

Often, when someone does a dashing job on a mini, we say "You've done justice to that mini." On that line of thinking, I feel like with older minis, the painter is doing them a favor.

I hope I've done tremendous favors to these old Heroquest minis. Client chose the color schemes:

Barbarian:

Wizard:

Fimir

The littlest little Bloodthirster. Or gargoyle, since MB didn't want demons in their game:

These look boss, man! I've only got as far as doing three goblins from the set I picked up last year. My wizard's missing a hand so I need to put my sculpting pants on before I get into the heroes.

Sculpting hands sticking out like that can get tricky. You'll probably need to start off with a thin bit of green stuff that you let dtry so that it can act as backing for you to sculpt the fingers.

These are amazing! Are you doing the full box?

I recently bought a box and painting it up is on the to-do list.
I don't think It'll be anywhere as nice as these though.

Those Fimir look amazing, and the barbarian is fantastic.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Thanks.

These minis were painted for a client, and he is painting the rest of the set.

(I wish I had a full copy of Heroquest to paint up, you know?)
