Most boring army. A year ago, I thought it would be fun! So I took on painting commisions to build the army. Now that I have it built and painted I find it so boring to play lol. Oh well. At least it looks pretty.
Anyone else think the Gladius is extremely boring?

It's not especially deadly on the battlefield, it usually wins through attrition and on the objective game.
Either you win big on objectives or you lose big on Kill points. No inbetween.

Yup. If I wanted to play the “I’ve got more bodies then you have bullets” game, I’d play guard.
Very strong in objective games, but not my cup of tea.
This assumes the full company spam list. You can do more traditional marine list that utilize the Gladius, but isn’t the spammy list.

Battle company is probably top 3 best army's currently in the game (white scars). 10 grav cannons a turn is pretty scary imo

Agreed on boring. I play KDK and everytime I play one I know it's going to be a race of boring.
Either I wipe the floor with them since they brought grav spam against things that don't have armor saves.
Or I slog thru a billion marines and barely lose.

Basically. Either way, it's super boring. I'd rather kill more stuff and have less models.

It's worse than boring. Some games are over before you place models. Oh playing marine drop pod gladius with 5 objectives? Good luck blowing 9 pods off those and still dealing with his other stuff.

It's the opposite of boring. Playing it forces your opponet to build a real list instead of an alpha strike turn 1 win condition army. Once they adapt it's quite fun and everyone gets to blow stuff up all game and every side of the bored is full of models.

I think it's quite fun as well, and I find the Lion's Blade, while not as OP as some of the other CT Gladius-style forces, to be especially fun with the full-BS overwatch. Grav, lots of TL AC, and tons of overwatching bolters makes the list pretty resilient.

Courageous Space Marine Captain

It was good to start with. Like the idea was great. Let's have a bunch of different units form up into a fluffy detachment with a couple fluffy rules, then add an option for a mixture of all detachments representing a cohesive large scale army.
Where it went down hill was "Ok, feth the fluffiness, give me 6x minimum Tact squads with free Razorbacks, then add an unkillable White Scars deathstar in the middle including Khan to defeat 99% of challengers who haven't already been shot to death by the 5 Gravguns in the squad, then give the squad the ability to have a 3++, a 3+ Jink and FNP. Then let's also throw in 3 biker Librarians who generate 6 powers between them, plus a Primaris and Force, give them 2+ to cast and add them into the squad as well. So the opponent can't shoot back, melee them due to H&R, can't cast or block the umpteen psychic powers, and is always at a points disadvantage."

Its 3 points for a marine. No other "horde" army can beat that efficiency. Is it fun? no not all

With taking all the command squads and dreads, 9-10 grav cannons and a few Meltaguns in the drop podding command squads is still a pretty decent amount of firepower, especially since you also have 14 transports and 16 objective secured units (if we count the characters separately), and the usually a suppression force on top of that.
670 points of free transports is pretty good. (5 pods and 9 Razorbacks.)
But, yes, it looks boring to play,,which is why it's down my list of armies to build and paint. Behind my Knights, 30k UM, Centstar, and Skyhammer/Sternguard/VVs list.
