I've seen that Warlord Games was to releae another game called Konflikt 47. Does anyone have further infos or an opinion about this game?
It seems to me they wanted to make a kind of Wolfenstein Wargame version, but if the guidelines which contributed to the quality of bolt action are kept why not?

Looks like its coming summer? Which is now and you can see some of the models like the 'mechapanzer' have gone into production and are available to buy
I think the game is designed to be what would have happened is ww2 had carried on in a sorta stalemate dystopian parallel universe sorta thing? Looks pretty cool, but I don't think it will be widely popular cos its a very niche period that doesn't exist.

The background seems pretty interesting at first look. Thus you should be able to keep using your bolt action models even for this one. Well what's gonna hinder the most is an opponent: bolt action isn't already widespread and this one will attract less people as the most part of historical players may give it up. How much should the rulebook sell?

True, but I find the dedicated storylines often too similar: I was talking about Wolfenstein, it just seems like each and every one was quite the same. That's a real shame but hopefully can some of them make route aside and follow the track to originality. Like Italy becoming the leader of the axis while destroying the USSR and landing in America at the same time... Ok I calm down

The rules are supposed to be Bolt Action with a dash of Gates of Antares.
All(?) BA minis are supposedly usable and the weird units dont seem that complex rules wise. I had a look at some stats at Salute and, for example, the big Tiger mech has the same stats as a Tiger tank aside from its mobility.
Personally I am quite looking forward to it and the models nice as well.

On the other hand, it appears that they got rid of some noteworthy nations in the background. For instance, the USSR apparently overran Japan.
Edit - Whoops! Looks like Clockwork Goblin changed its mind about Japan, and it'll be in the first supplement.

A lot of the minis (and rules for using them in BA) have been on sale for a few years now. I think much of it started out as alternative stuff for Secrets of the Third Reich but that game never really gained much traction and switching to adding some weird war (or some more weird war - Warlord always had a few odd bits on sale) into BA made more sense.
My BA armies were both SOTR armies with the weird elements dropped out (which in the case of these germans was quite a lot of it). I'm looking forward to getting the weird stuff back onto the table. And trying to come up with some rules for the Veil troopers

It's also what happened in Eastern Europe against Germany, but that doesn't seem to be keeping the Germans out of the game.

Well they at least put up a fight
Besides technological advances made by Germany since the US nuked Dresden and opened up the 'rift' were obviously able to keep back the red hordes....
There are some really nice models incoming for this though

They might get rid of minor countries like Italy (well, as they partly caused German defeat, they actually played a great role but that doesn't suit for a tabletop combat ^^), but it feels like it's better to focus on the 3 greats, maybe a Japan supplement, and then no further so as to avoid overabound with minor armies. Besides, the minis look very great!

I'm not certain but I think its stand alone. There are some core rules changes which aren't in BA at least.

It's been announced as a standalone if I remember well. Though bolt action models are compatible as far as basic soldiers and the core rules are insipred by this last.

Yep, standalone rulebook.
I'm hoping to use my Dust Tactics models. I enjoy the BA ruleset more than the Dust rules. Certainly the confusion over the various Dust rules is enough to drive a man nuts.

I like that theyre keeping the option to use regular soldiers in it, and the starter sets seem to include regular troopers as well. Far too often weird war settings assume that everything would be fazed out in months when more likely it would be used until it broke down or the ammo ran out.
Plus whats the point in having all these crazy tanks and walkers if there's no baseline troopers?

I think the Dust models are 32mm heroic, similar to Games Workshop. I don't have any BA minis to compare them against, but it shouldn't be a problem for our group. Worse comes to worse, we'll blame it on steroids.

I hope so. I have enough 'regular' WW2 types that the current starters don't interest me, but I DO want to get the smaller soft cover rulebook.
A two-player starter with less 'normal' per side may get me to buy it.
I do have the hardcover on pre-order from Amazon.

I expect you will be able to find the softcover on ebay pretty quickly. I pre-ordered both starters but will obviously only need one of the books so I plan to sell the other to a chum. There will no doubt be others doing the same, not to mention those selling off their softcovers because they prefer the hardcover.

There will not be a two player starter; we expect most sales will be to people who either already have a Bolt Action army or to experienced players who will already know which army they want. The single faction starters still come with dice and rules and templates, etc.
As to the contents, you can toss the 'conventional' BA sprues in the trash and still net @ $70 USD in savings on the rest of the contents over buying them individually.

The best way remains to release a starter set with something like a little normal squad, a Walker and a zombie/heavy iron man like unit and so on for each side in it. Along with all basic supplies required. Not only players from BA might be interested in it, so that's be a shame to do without. Though, I'd make a starter set Germany and USSR to mark the difference with BA.

But that would destroy the suspension of disbelief. I actually find that scenario less plausible than nazi zombies and werewolves

Aren't these starters using the existing Clockwork Goblin metals? If so would have made it rather expensive if you kept the weird war stuff in.
If the game does reach enough critical mass to prompt some plastics perhaps we might see something then ?
