Presumably gonna eat a ton of their SFX budget which was already stretched pretty thin in places.
TBH I'd rather that Bobbi and Hunter came back instead, but we'll see how things pan out.

The cynical part of me thinks that the inclusion of Ghost Rider is there just to push more magic into the MCU to tie in with Strange and probably Iron Fist as well; in the 2 last series they were really pushing Inhumans, that's now not happening so they need to change direction.
I was hoping GR would find his way to Netflix eventually, but this'll do, and it's neither of the two 'classic' GRs, Blaze or Ketch, it's the new guy, so if it goes down well they could always make that move anyway.
I do hope Bobbi and Hunter are reintroduced, as much as their farewell episode was one of the highlights of last series, it's something of a waste of two great characters now their own show has been cancelled.
The Bobbi/Hunter show, Most Wanted, didn't get cancelled. It didn't even get picked up.
And yeah, this isn't Ghost Rider. This is Ghost "Driver", some cheap knock-off GR because there's no way in hell (see what I did there?) that Agents of SHIELD would be given a character as big as the actual Ghost Rider.
I predict this new Ghost Rider will be like every other major thing AoS has done - a few snippets of FX amounting to make 30 seconds of actual footage, with most fighting done off screen and in reaction shots.
And then the show will be cancelled, and we can just remember AoS as a failed experiment that never once lived up to its massive potential.

Ghost Rider still seems really weird to me to include since as of yet they've been going all science and no mysticism in the MCU, though yes I know that's changing with Strange coming out. Still just seems a really weird tonal shift.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh, I am glad they're at least giving him an actual skull instead of the dumb racing helmet from the comic.

I'm kind of sad to say this, but give me Nicholas Cage Ghost Rider instead, please. No skulls/bone bits on the car?? Any bugger can set car tyres on fire... @ AduroT: If they're bringing in The Hand, Iron Fist and Dr. Strange, then we're very definitely in mysticism territory...
Kinda disappointed that they dropped Inhumans. I quite liked that plotline.

It mostly wraps up towards the end of series 3. I imagine they could've kept it going had the Inhumans movie not been cancelled (or 'indefinitely postponed'), but now there's no need to so they're shifting gear to be more relevant to Strange and Iron Fist.
