It does not really look like rust it looks more like terracotta pottery IMO. There are so many ways to do rust and chipping.

though this is sun damage I guess (I've seen this before, just now found out how it's caused myself).

Very creative take, never seen it attempted before. Looks great if that's what you intended.

If you were going for rust, kinda missed the mark..

Fantastic! That really looks like water-damaged paint! (you know, when the water seeps under the paint, then freezes, expanding and lifting the paint off in patches).
