Hey found this timbit on the rule errant.

Q:Some very short models, such as Goblins, are not able to attack models on flying stands, as the distance between the two models exceeds the range of the smaller model’s weapon. Is there any way for the smaller model to attack in such a situation?
A: No – it will need to find some scenery upon which to stand in order to reach the ying model. Likewise, the ying model would be unable to attack those small models unable to reach it, should its melee weapon not have the range to do so.

Lol so tall bases all around

Lame modeling for advantage cases aside this is another strong argument for base to base measurements. Archaon and other giant models and paint damage being even more egregious reasons.

Meh people mainly play from base to base not model to model pretty dumb if you ask me.

Based on that models on dragons high up will never be able to attack anything time to make all your large models hunch down low....

No. The rider and his mount are a single model.

Guys this is OgreChubbs, he isn't going to listen to reason and he is only going to blast AoS for the same reasons over and over. Case in point: he is making a thread about a rule that the vast majority of players ignore. Just ignore him and move on.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

You cant really ignore it anymore then any other rules you dont like. It is how the game is ment to be played.

Ignoring this rule is like ignoring any oher 40k rule errants. Like the gernades. Or I like heavy weapons so I am not going to follow the rule I cant march then fire them.

It's also in the General's Handbook to just house rule any rule you don't like, and they even mention base to base measuring
