So I'm currently working on making my own Sister of Battle model, mainly self-sculpted and I'm working on another project too. Both are slow going so, yesterday I decided to convert a Sister using just Games Workshop bits, no Green Stuff, just as something quick and fun amidst slogging my way through the other projects.

So these are all the parts I used. Legs, arms and torso from a Dark Eldar; arms from an Empire Flagellant; chest plate, backpack and helmet from a Skitarius; a Forge World boltgun and an old 2nd Edition Space Marine boltgun.

Roughly hacked up and filed.

I filed and sliced away the detail on the Dark Eldar legs and added the flappy bits from the Skitarius chest to make the tabard. I used the sleeves from the Flagellant and the gauntlets from the Dark Eldar. The Skitarius backpack was chopped down and the helmet was huge so I chopped off all of the respirator and a bit off the back to make it fit. I opted for the old boltgun as the Forge World version was just too big.

A very simple hack job but, I'm fairly pleased with how it turned out.

Looks good Gogsnik, similar sized to the regular Sister.

The Eldar legs are proportionately bigger but the overall height is about the same, a bit smaller than a regular Space Marine, especially with the reduced helmet size, that gives the effect of being daintier. I need to get some paint on her now.

Thanks for the comments

I like it. You did a good job capturing the aesthetic of the Sisters. I'd plotted out some ideas that involved Dark Eldar bits. Never thought of using the flagellant arms. Those fit perfectly.

Not sure about the skitarii helmet though. The visor doesn't seem to match up well with where eyes would be.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

That looks pretty damn amazing. How long did it take you to build?

Less than thirty minutes, if we don't include the twenty odd minutes I spent going through bits trays looking for boltguns!

I suppose I should put some fleur de lys and other symbols on, fill the gap in the right shoulder, mould lines et cetera.

An impressive eye for suitable parts.

Was an Adeptus Astartes backpack too large ?

Damn, that's a really clever and good looking conversion. If I hadn't been in the game for so long I might have thought that was actually an official model.

Very nice, any idea for a bit to copy the ball bit on the back pack? Those were always so distinctive to me.

Honestly I just never thought to even try one but looking at a comparison then yes, an Astartes backpack is a lot bigger, almost half again the size. I think using a bit off the bottom of a Space Marine backpack might work though, the detailing is a bit too big though really.

That's very high praise, thank you.

A half round bead would do for the ball part of the 'exhaust' and a simple push mould of a Chaos Star from a cultist model, cut in half, would provide the spikey bits. I mean, why wouldn't you want to build Sisters using Chaos iconography?!

I've been through my bits boxes and dug out some nice old Chaos and Ork bolters and pistols, some Rogue Trader bits to add some veriety. I think I might put a squad of at least five together and see how it goes.

I don't know if it was the heat or the release of 8th but, with the speed of a striking slug, I decided to finish painting my two test, plastic Sisters of Battle.
