So the Great Bray-Shaman can, with a Casting Value 7 spell, summon ANY Chaos Monster.
Am I reading that wrong? Or can I summon Archaon the Everchosen with one spell?

Of course if you're using the Matched Play rules you'd have to pay the 700 points for Archaon if you want to summon him.

Yes, the FAQ for the GHB says that summons can be from any allegiance as long as you stay within your Grand Alliance for pitched battles and the summon can take you beyond the limitations on leaders, behemoths, and artillery!

Which is a pity, I do hope they'll give that an alternate profile for whenever they update the Breyherd, it's pretty poor for Pitched Battle, though good enough for base that I just hope for an alternate ability to go alongside it, or maybe a secondary that lets them help monsters out or something to it as well.

When Brayherds get their own battletome, they'll get their own spell lore like Sylvaneth and Bonesplitterz. Until that time they still have Arcane Bolt and Mystic Shield.

True, but I'm not a fan of a unique spell being gak. had plenty of that in 40k to deal with as it is

Its not 'gak' in two of the three ways to play.

I said that in my first post about it that it's good within a few modes of play (Since it was created before the other two were created afterall), but I would like to see maybe a monster booster within it, even just as simple as being able to command monsters better by buffing them.

The Bray-Shaman does also give +3" to move, which is very handy. You can swap out the shaman for Malagor, who has a more useful spell, but loses that ability to make your army move a whopping 9" base (don't forget you can run and charge too!)

That's true, but I'm one to avoid personally playing with the legacy lists.
Though I am curious how they'll do Monsters of Chaos now that I think on it since it's not really the sort of unified force sort.

The casting value for the "Savage Dominion" spell is a 9. Being Chaos though you can get it to 7 with a few tricks.
1- Great Bray-Shaman
1- Kairos Fateweaver
1- Lord of Change
1- The Changeling
1- The Blue Scribes
1- Numinous Occulum
Basically you use the Tzeentch wizards to cast the Bray-Shamans spell Savage Dominion at a better cast number (from 9 to 7 with the Occulum and the LoC aura for Tzeentch Daemon Wizards plus a few re-rerolls). You can summon up to 4 Monsters (Kairos and The Changeling know it if they are near the Shaman, The Blue Scribes have a 50% chance to learn it each time it is cast) of any kind per hero phase! (3 in the first turn, as the Blue Scribes need a turn to write the spell down.)
Add three cheap battleline units (Ungors, Marauders, Clanrats, or Bloodreavers) to cap it off and you have 900 reinforcement points (1340 for 2.5k) to spend on monsters. Automatically Appended Next Post: And then I remembered the Rule of One and that shoots down that combo...still works in Narrative or Open play though.

Rule of 1 says you can only cast the spell once each turn. But regardless Great Bray Cheese, which I believe is properly referred to as Great Brie, only exists outside of matched play.

That made me laugh out loud. Have an Exalt, good sir!
And yeah, true about the non-Matched Play only.

You could still use the above combo just using less units and points, a decent chance at any monster coming in every turn may be effective. Really a guaranteed chance if you play with the silly rules and nail down how to spell savage dominion backwards.
Using less reinforcement points and less points on the combo gives you a bunch more points for other synergies or artillery.
Redoing it while taking into account the Rule of One...you'd really only need a GBS, Kairos, LoC, and the Occulum. That even seems like overkill but is only 660 plus however much you'd like to spend on summons and the battleline, which you could make better than ungors and other cheapies. Take out the LoC and you're only spending 400 points, you could do 1k in reinforcements and still have 600 left for everything else.
Certainly not as cheesy as casting it 4 times a turn but still has the faint aroma of a sharp cheddar
