After getting bored of Tau, I decided to start a little Inquisition warband. To get some inspiration, I picked up the old Codex: Demonhunters and Codex: Witch Hunters from eBay. Both contain some nice ideas for warbands/narratives/games/painting/etc.

But, they got me thinking: was there ever going to be an Alien Hunters codex? After playing during RT and early 2nd edition, I took a break till 6th edition, so I wasn't around when the books were originally released. Was there any talk about it in White Dwarf? Were there any rumours doing the rounds?

Someone must know something, surely?

Combining the Inquisition codex with Deathwatch and whatever other Imperial forces you fancy gets you there.

Maybe? There was a White Dwarf article that had rules for taking a Deathwatch kill-team alongside other Imperial armies, but the only other Ordo Xenos content from back then I know of was Solomon Lok and D-99 out of Anphelion.

IIRC there was talk about it, but that was mostly just rumors. It seemed the logical progression. You had the 3 major branches of the inquisition and their order militant. 2/3s got books.

It was one of those things that we all expected, but never materialized. It might have been that 4th dropped, and things needed to get re-done, so they stopped adding more new stuff.

There was a list of all factions in the 4th edition rulebook if I remember, alien hunters were listed as an army in there not long after witch hunters were released. To my knowledge it was planned and drafted but dropped when they decided the whole half an army/allies concept was a bad idea.
