Its not possible for many IG players to field mass infantry so in this video I talk about how to get the most out of your vehicles by using infantry to support them.
"I once gave the order to one of my platoons to fix bayonets and charge a squad of genestealers. If they believed in the emperor hard enough they could win... I don't think they believed enough..."
I'm sure looking forwards to your Hellhound video.
While I certainly have not always used stronger, infantry-heavy lists in my previous games, I frequently enjoyed advancing a large, bulky tank unit down the middle of the board to pressure opponents. I used the classic Pasknisher with an Eradicator to mitigate an inherent disadvantage, gave them camo, and bubble wrapped their front armor with Bullgryns. Very, very expensive, but that's 3+ cover save on the unit, in the open. Combined with AV 14 made them rather hard to kill, even against my friend's Necrons. Punisher's AP - and Ignore Cover on the Eradicator meant I didn't normally have to worry about improving the saves of potential targets, often heavy infantry.
Then, of course, I had platoons marching along the flanks and behind, with vets or 10 man squads in transports on the extreme flanks where they'd receive less attention. In 1500+ point games, it worked rather well, as the tanks would absorb a surprising amount of fire, and Bullgryns, though super expensive, were also rather tough to kill at T5, 3W, 3+ armor, and even successfully went toe-to-toe with Canoptek Wraiths on multiple occasions.

I aim to upload the Hellhound video by the end of the week so keep an eye out for it!
Bullgryns + camo is good but like you said it is so expensive, and it just doesn’t work against Tau who can just marker light away cover saves. But against Necrons who do not have as many ways to ignore cover as other armies it can be a nice effective combo

Liked listening to this one as well. More my style now although I tend to go for quantity over quality with the tanks for the cheapest Leman Russ tanks I can field surrounded by infantry units.
My lists lately have been similar to this. I usually try to get 2-3 shooty blobs of 30 guardsmen each. Then 1-2 units of 30 conscripts each. The rest of my list is usually filled out with russes usually from the emperors first tank company.
I keep the russes relatively close together to allow the tank commander to give that bs4 buff. And so the tech priest can give his buff as well.
Then I will pretty much have the conscripts leading the charge with the shooty blobs on the flanks and rear of the tanks. With how much space the blobs take up the opponent usually has a hard time getting to the tanks. Which usually exact a pretty hefty toll by the time he gets a chance to do anything.
Automatically Appended Next Post: As for hell hounds I've used the hell hound and the bane wolf. The banewolf was used in the emperors assault company and acted as a defensive unit. I kept it in reserves and countered my opponents reserve that got on my face with it. Having preferred enemy against enemy units within 6" of an objective and wounding on 2+ with ap3 allowed me to slaughter marines like crazy.
As for the hellhound I usually will have them on flanks to circle around the enemy to grab lie breaker and harass his back field. But if I get the warlord table that allows for outflank I will outflank them so I can hit them harder.
With the speedy of these vehicles and the side 12 armor I like to use them as very offensive units to harass the opponent as much as possible. Especially aiming for his back field as a fast vehicle can be rather difficult to catch. It's greater speed allows you to also move from cover to cover relatively easily.

Thanks for posting these,

Thank you for watching! I have tried to vary the vids a bit as I understand not everyone will have pure infantry armies

Yeah 4-5 30 man blobs seems to be the most effective whilst still allowing you enough points to get tanks etc. The Cadia tank company is good and actually allows you to use Vaquishers effectively again! Check out the Steel Host formation as well, almost identical but you get PE instead of BS4.
Good to hear you are having success with the Hellhounds/ Banewolfs. I have 4 of the fast buggers and they never fail to dissappoint. My local gaming group has actually come to fear them more than my Russes just because if they let them get close they will delete a unit a turn until stopped! My Brother plays tau and he has hates them because I will more than likely take out his pathfinders/ Marker Drones in the first 2 turns if he doesn't kill my "Hellions".
