This really is the year for the public to purposefully step on landmines.
Well people, look at the new face and rhetoric of republican presidents. I hope the GOP is happy with what it has done to the party of Lincoln.

I was predicting Hillary but also said I wouldn't be surprised if there was a large number of either complacent Hillary supporters or silent Trump supporters because of the way it's almost seen as socially unacceptable to support Trump in many circles.
So yeah, not surprised at all.

It seems like this whole campaign has been defined by denial.
What's really amazing is that either party could have won by a landslide with a more palpable candidate. Whatever happened to the path of least resistance?

Polls had it as much safer than it turned out to be. Then there's Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, which were also polling well for Clinton. No means certain, but they are the upsets that has put Trump in a winning position.

Because Hillary and her supporters are actually center-right, not left at all. closer to early 1980s Republicans than Democrats. The People's party is now the Elitist party of 10% of the country. the Left is out in the cold concerning the Democratic party and the shenanigans of this current years' primary.

The fact that Republicans allowed this idiot to get this far and maybe even into the White House shows just how low they have gotten. It is an affront to anyone of reason, sense, or statesmanship that this was allowed to be but here we are with this Dilbert as the nominee. The inmates have truly taken over the asylum and even sadder is seeing some of the residents try to justify it because they want to keep their position as a politician.
Admittedly I am pretty tired and been up way to long, still it boggles my mind that a party I used to at respect has changed this much in my lifetime. Or maybe I just need sleep.

This is nonsense. It relies on people believing that the hatred of mainstream Republicans towards Clinton wouldn't have been repeated with anyother Democrat. Having seen Republicans hate Gore, hate Kerry, hate Obama, you have to conclude that maybe Republicans will hate anyone that comes along with a D next to their name.
From there you have to look at what Trump has brought that other Republicans have failed to bring. He's threatened in Michigan because he's run no a strong anti-trade position, unlike other Republicans. He's brought in crazy good numbers among rural voters elsewhere.
And we still don't know about Clinton's figures. It's likely that what's cost her is a reduced turnout among black voters. If that's true it is fething bonkers to believe that Sanders or someone else would have done better.

No, she called half of deplorable voters deplorable. She meant the deplorable ones. The racists.
At last look, he's got 2 million more votes then she does.
Oh for feth's sake. Looking at the popular vote at this point means forgetting that California, Washington etc are hours behind. Clinton will likely win about 52 or 53% of the popular vote.

About time another good conservative chimed in here. Everybody else is acting like the sky is falling just because the most corrupt presidential candidate in history is losing (probably an overstatement, but...eh). I myself am proud of America for not believing everything the liberal news media tried to tell them. Trump may not be ideal (he really does need to control those temper tantrums), but he's got to be better than the criminal with a trail of bodies behind her that left good Americans to die in Benghazi. We'll just have to wait and see. After all, even if Trump turns out to be terrible, I don't seriously think America is going to cease to exist or any crap like that.

If you want to believe a more moderate less scandal plauged candidate wouldn't have done better (for either side) go right on and believe that. It works both ways. A great politician brings people together, or at least makes them believe in coming together.
