So I am looking for ideas to kit out Deathwatch Vanguard vets. My Killteam is reg vets and a bike but my SM list has Assault marines with packs for HoW hits and works so I thought if vets plus Vanguard for Killteam, but what about a regular list as well?
Looking for input on both game styles...

From my limited deathwatch experience, HTH are definitely the way to go.
maybe something like 2 heavy thunder hammers and the rest normal, maybe throw in a hand flamer or two, and you're golden.
I'd also kit them out to be in various different Kill team formations, because a few need them so keep that in mind.
You can also be a dick and kit them out all seperately and use then in really tiny units as harassment, that seems mean and annoying.

One of the cool things with this codex is that Terminators and Vanguard units can consist of one model, this way Killteams can be set up so many ways.
I need to grab some HTH as I have not gotten the Killteam kit or anything just got one upgrade spru from the captain box and one is in the box of Vanguard I got today.

Yup
The hth is probably one of, if not, the best melee weapons available, and throwing one or two in any squad makes that unit a whole lot scarier to everything besides basic gribblies.
Although, if you run around with single VGV, then I suspect dual hand flamers is the way to go, but that's just my $0.02

I personally like the fact that all the lightning claws they put in the VV kit are actually cost-effective under the Deathwatch book (35pts for a Veteran with a pair of lightning claws).
Generally I'd recommend giving everyone a power weapon over leaving most of them with chainswords simply because of the price, 5pt power weapons on Veteran statlines are simply excellent and they're better for adding power weapons to killteam formations than giving them to regular veterans are.

Oh jeez!
I didn't realize the power weapons on vanguard were 5 points, I don't know how that happened...
Thank you Anomander Rake, that just made me a little extra excited to get home and brutally remove all of my vanguard's arms!

yeah, I thin double claws might be the way to go, I still would do one bullet catcher but that's just me.

Well for Killteam it's easy. Two with claws are 70 points so I have 20 to work with for my vets, so 2 Stalkers and a HB exploding 2+ poison small template is great for weak scaredy cats hiding in Killteam... Ugh but that game is another story...
So I started the two claw dudes. Thing I LOVE about Killteams is a.) buy models (a couple kits one SM vets and a captain) b.) Make models with back stories! Like my HB model. He is in current Devastator armor and painting that black is fluff/dex adherent.
I have to say I am happy with the upgrade sprues. You can make all kinds of dudes with your extras.
