Hey guys! I am a new player, and I am looking into the Imperial Knights, mostly because I love their models. I have already started building a CSM army, but no harm in having two, right?

I know that how powerful a given soldier is is subjective, based upon what you are trying to do, but which Knight do you find to be the best overall? Which do you find best for specific purposes? Are the Forgeworld ones worth their cost?

Thanks in advance!

If you're going chaos, the dual gattling cannon renegade knight is everything you could ever want, as it's a legitimate threat to *everything*, and can be as chaosy as you please.

Some people find the idea that other people can be happy offensive, and will prefer causing harm to self improvement.

Well, if you have CSM, you may want to look into the Renegade Knights, The FW Renegade Knight and the Kytan Daemon Engine

The GW Rengade Knight can take 2 Avenger Gatling Cannons, which murder EVERYTHING with 3+ saves or less

The FW Renegade Knight can take Daemon Upgrades, so Daemon Of Nurgle would give it IWND etc

The Kytan Daemon Engine is another FW product, and it would be classed as an equilivent to a knight, and comes with WS5, I5, 4A, 13,13,11 (Better than the 13,12,11 of a standard Knight), the Daemon Rule (and has the Daemon of Khorne rules) has Fleet, Crusader, rage and IWND built in, has an 8 shot S8 AP3 Cannon, and if it destroys a unit in the shooting phase, it can charge a different unit in the assault phase, also, it can be taken in any detachment that can take a Lord of Skulls (I.E The Trinity of Blood formation in the Traitors hate book, which works out about 1000 points cheaper if taking 3 Kytans)

As Malamis said, the dual Gatling cannon is plain evil against most things and highly effective.

If your happy for FW units to be used though, the Atropos is stupidly strong and its weapons put out great damage, while still retaining CC ability.

The lancer is my usual knight however.
Fast, hits hard and better survivability than other knights.
I use it for hunting GC's and other knights as they have little to no issue tearing through them.
If somehow you don't kill the target, you have a much better chance of surviving the return attacks.

There are a few notable problem units where the dual avenger cannons wont' cut it and you really want to D-slap. I personally like the Warden better than the Renegade with dual cannons.

That being said, I don't think there is "best" knight necessarily.

I'm really jealous that renegade Knights can do the pair of gatling cannons - that's what I wanted to do for my Imperial one!

Check out my Youtube channel!

I'm OK with the Battlecannon & Rocket Pod, myself. Good all-rounder there!
