Has anyone had any breakthroughs with CSM in Killteam?
I want to start a CSM Killteam force, but I'm currently lacking direction a bit. Beyond a squad of plain spaghetti csm (being new to the ruinous powers) I don't really know what to do. I'm thinking of special weapon Havocs, and maybe a sorcerer or a chaos lord.
The only thing I've really set my heart on is some fluff - I want my csm to be fallen Raven Guard successors in Mk. IV armor (but I wanna give them the FW night lords heads). Other than that, please feel free to recommend whatever.
Thanks!

Nurgle Bikes are the obvious place to go (at least that's my instinctive first pick), six of them leaves you 34pts for special weapons/champion toys and you've got T6/3+ models with Jink floating around.

You're not allowed HQ or Heavy Support in Kill Team so Havocs, Sorcerers, and Lords are out (I'd go for Obliterators first every time if HS/2+ armour were allowed simply because of the flexibility). Warp Talons have expensive melee weapons stuck onto their base cost, so they're not going to help much. Basic Raptors aren't a bad option, they're mobile, have some ranged upgrade weapons, and can be T5 from the Mark of Nurgle if you want.

The Cult Marines are all very expensive; Thousand Sons are almost certainly unuseable from the sorcerer tax (even though he's one of three psykers who gets to be a psyker in Kill Team he's just too expensive). Raptors probably do Berzerkers' thing better in a single-model-units setting, Plague Marines are always a solid choice since they're unkillable and they've got two special weapons at five models and the option for a Rhino. Noise Marines don't really offer much above and beyond regular CSM, the sonic weapons are cool but bodies are almost certainly going to trump them in Kill-Team.

Mutilators and Terminators are out because of the 2+ armour ban, Helbrutes are out because their AV is too high. Possessed are an interesting option if you've got the Crimson Slaughter supplement since all the options on the variant table make them either faster or tougher, they still need a Mark that'll make them more durable (Tzeentch for a 4++ or Nurgle for T5) but they could work pretty well. Chosen have points for flexibility but lose points for being comically expensive; you can build a mix and match team with them but it'll be twice the price of an identically-equipped mix and match team from a loyalist book since the CSM book is so much older. Basic CSM have the advantage of flexibility, and Chaos Cultists have the advantage of masses and masses of bodies.

So bottom line a CSM Kill Team is probably going to be best built out of CSM, Plague Marines, Possessed (with Crimson Slaughter), Raptors, Bikers, and/or Cultists. You probably won't have the points to do more than one of those in a given Kill Team unless it's regular CSM or Bikers with a Cultist mob providing backup.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.
