So, I used to have a rule kinda. I would never play a game more that twice. I love games.
But im seeing myself dI just feel that, with every game now getting a "DLC edition" I just wait till that comes out, get it. And because I never buy games new, getting another game to play is cheap.
So dakka, how often do you replay games?

Cop-out answer, but it depends on the game. Some games I've played and never gone back to, whereas others I can play whenever where ever and never be bored of them (like MechCommander).

I haven't beaten fallout 4 or skyrim, but have replayed countless Diablo characters, Kotor, WoW, Starcraft and Warcraft 2, Civ 5 (just haven't been able to get into 6)...
Play some old games now and then, like Lords of Magic and Wing Commander 3. One of my old favorites is on the iPad now - Ascendancy.
I just started replaying a game on the weekend, but for the life of me can't remember what.

Once I beat a game, I'm done with it. Sometimes I'll try and play through it again if there's some bonus for doing a 2nd play through, but usually I'll give up about half way through when something else shiny comes along.
Even if a game has new stories and stuff in DLCs, if I didn't have that DLC already when I beat the game, then I'm probably never gonna go back to it. That's one of the reasons why I try and wait a year or so before I buy a new game. Usually by then a game will have a bundled version that's cheaper too.

games are like movies, you always go back to the classics.
For the computer, I've probably played Ultima 4, and the Bards Tale series more times than most people have seen star trek movies most replayed strategy game is easily Masters of Magic.
For console games, I'm always replaying the lego star wars games.
I usually don't go longer than 3 months before starting one of these games up again.

It really depends! some games are made with multiple playthroughs in mind; i've beat civ 2 and alpha centauri many times over. on the other hand, i've never finished games like skyrim even once. then again, that's because i like starting new characters too much.

Depends on the game. Usually if it's story based, Like Uncharted or Darksiders, I play through it once for the story and that's it. If it's just damn fun to play, like Dark Souls, Diablo, etc., I'll replay it several times.

Endless times if it's a good game, not even one completion if otherwise, though what's "good" varies between people.

I've played Final Fantasy 4 and Super Metroid so many times I lost count. Most games only get a single playthrough.
