I can't tell if I'm excited or aggravated by this. On the one hand, plastc Sisters is cool, the models look good, and the SoB fans will finally shut up because they're not being squatted. On the other hand, there will probably still be something in the release for people to complain about.

That's the case with most releases. See the 5th ed necron release for reference (though to be fair, there were some questionable design decisions)
As for the plastic sisters, I think the old seraphim looked better. The newer ones look slightly bulkier, and I'm not sure I like that. Its not a terrible design, its just they look too much like those special blood angel assault marines to me.
Their faces do seem a bit better though.

What if Malal is the part of the Emperor that represents his utter hatred of chaos, and his willingness to destroy everything to destroy everything to eliminate it? This aspect of him could have been partly created by the zeal of his most fanatical followers, as well as the trauma of the Horus Heresy. In short, Malal / Dark Emperor is the god of the Imperium; single minded, willing to commit vast sacrifices to achieve a goal, ruthless and uncompromising.

On the flip side, there could be another aspect of the Emperor, one that is fueled by the more positive aspects of the Imperium; loyalty, duty, altruism (in the sense of self sacrifice), and resolve (no retreat, no surrender, all that jazz)

Wild Fan theories are fun

That's a pretty neat bit of art work. I like the flight of Seraphims in the sky.

Looks like a huge slaaneshi demon.
I don't think its based on a model, I just think the artist drew something that looks freaky and demonic.

If Cadia is finally going to fall this time, might we see a progress in the plot? Or maybe a range of plastic Imperial Guardsmen that are not solely comprised of cadians? I have nothing against cadians, mind you, its just I liked it better when they had Vostroyans, Valhallans, Tallarns, Steel Legion and Mordians on the shelves as well.

I would like if its revealed that the Pylons are, in fact, anti warp devices, and shortly before Cadia falls to chaos, Trazyn activates them, thereby separating Cadia from the warp. He will then turn Cadia into his own personal multi-dimensional theme park, "Mr. Cron's Wild Ride." Or make it into a giant necron base or something. The theme park idea is more entertaining though.

Well, its possible for high ranking officers to be evacuated shortly before cadia falls. You'd then have a First and Only scenario with Cadians, where you just have the remnants of the cadian army led by Creed and other high ranking officers.

No idea how that would be represented in game though.
Maybe all Cadians will be vets or something, idk.

40k doesn't need rules 'tweaks'. It needs a complete overhaul. The game is too cumbersome to function correctly.

I think it needs to be a cross between 5th and 4th ed, which, imo, were the more stable editions.
Albeit with some changes

- Cover modifies accuracy
- There should be some sort of suppression mechanic. Every squad based game out there seems to have one now, and 40k is being left out.
- Phil Kelly should not be allowed to touch Eldar ever again

I have to say, I am enjoying this new marketing campaign.
I especially liked the footnote at the bottom

Author of the popular research journals ‘Hrud Migrations: Nature’s great plague’, and the partially completed ‘There are no Wolves on Fenris’, ended prematurely following the untimely death of Xeno Biologis Orthion Casus in an unfortunate mauling incident.

GW has gained awareness.

The twist could be that Cadia was a Tomb World all along.
Of course, that would be a bit silly, as surely they would have noticed the vast alien civilisation underneath them. What, you mean in all those thousands of years they didn't think to dig down? That's dumb.

I'd reckon the Inquisition/High Lords would have been aware of it but prevented any further digging on the planet? It could easily be prohibited for organisations to excavate a large amount of land, many Inquisitors have been studying the pylons, the official reports probably just say they don't know what they are.

Then why didn't they destroy it? Send in some maintenance workers (deathwatch in clever disguise) to clear rubble for mining operations (planting nukes / C4 / an unusually flatulent sheep)

Iirc, In the old necron fluff, its implied that the C'tan constructed the pylons to try to form a vast anti-psychic network, so as to separate the immaterium from the materium. They were forced into hibernation before they could finish.

Of course, after the 5th codex that's not really the case any more, as the anti-warp aspect is barely touched upon and the C'tan are now pokemon.
I suspect that this whole campaign is just there to clog up that gaping plot hole.

There was a titan in the box. Trazyn is a titan now. Just as planned.

Anyway, I think its pretty clear the tessaract reinforcements are part of the scenario. I doubt its a new rule.
It does specify "in this battle."

Anyone see today's Regimental Standard? Looks like the Imperium may have more than just Chaos to worry about on Cadia:

https://regimental-standard.com/2017/01/04/no-necrons-on-cadia-study-finds/

I wonder if this could be an indication that we'll be getting some sort of Necron release in the near future. But then again there's definitely, certainly no Necrons on Cadia, so there's probably nothing to worry about. The pylons are just big natural structures and there are no strange aliens walking around Cadia. Nope. Not a single one. Move along.

Necrons do not need any new stuff at all. togeather with chaos demons they are "Alpha Predators" in 40K. The Tyranids and AM should get some attention :-(

Except for better model designs and CC destroyers so the destroyer lord has a proper home.

Yes, I think it was 3rd ed too.
It also had living ammunition, and unique weapon stats.

Third Ed.

It came about from a 2nd Ed Tyranid mission called 'Tyranid Attack', where the Tyranids could constantly recycle every unit, but would only win if they could kill ever single enemy model by the end of Turn 6.

4th Ed, actually. In the '04 book, not the '01 one. The Third Ed. book was pretty spare, although it did start the mutations thing.

Ooh now I remember

Codex: The Fallen?

I have a theory that 8th ed will down size the game or make it at least a lot more scaleable than it currently is, hence the release of genestealer cults and deathwatch as independent factions despite them both being small on a galactic scale.
If my theory is true (I'm basing at on nothing but the release of smaller factions.) then codex fallen or codex non chaotic traitor marines would be an awesome thing to add in to the game.

If it means that the game goes back to infantry with some vehicle support like in 4th, as opposed to super weapons everywhere, I'm down with that.
